The only thing good about G Jennings is that he likes to get involved and provides goods tough carries from out the back. So he will be better in Sivo in that department. He is not a finisher like Sivo and is a worse defender however. I think Taka can't defend as a centre anymore because he lacks the acceleration and easily get beaten on the outside. I would have W Smith in Centre. With Blake, as long as he learns to stay on his wing and not come in (he did this all the time when moved to wing against storm) at training than play him. Otherwise Blake can be dropped.
I like it and I think having Paulo and RCG off at the same time is detrimental to our go forward. Either RCG or Paulo need to play off the bench IMO.
Also I think Taka to play in the centres instead of Waqa is a must. I wouldn't risk Fergo as he's not 100% no matter what he or the coach says. G Jennings in for Sivo and Waqa to cover Fergo.
Kaufusi in for Marata.
Stone in for Smith.
I reckon these changes will improve our defence and just might improve our kick return impact.
I agree Frank. We need to have big guys on the edge or they will bomb our wings all night. Taka played well at right centre before Blake came and I would try to limit positional changes. Having said that, the bunnies right side attack is where they go all the time and Takas lateral movements are not the best.
I agree. Reckon Taka has to play. He's not as mobile as other options but the bloke reads it well in defence and Blake onthe wing is big, mobile and good in the air, so it should actually work well.
The big thing really needs to be having field position, because although Walker got a lot of wraps when they dusted us a month or two back, Reynolds literally kicked us to death - put it in the corners and had us coming off our line all night. Was a JOhns 1st half 2001 GF level kicking performance and it busted our blokes.
Also think Souths are a team where one of RCG or Paulo can come off the bench with Lane. Davey and even Evans starting added a fair bit in recent weeks, and Paulo off the bench is a horrible proposition for any side when they are startgin to tire.
Agreed.. That being said we would still end up playing a better team week 2 the biggest issue we have is that we need to worry about who were playing when you have to have a preference of who u face your on your way to defeat
Don't think we have much choice with Taka, Smith untried at Centre , Taka better option, he will talk all night to Waqa keeping him out on the sideline then slip some one handers to him.
Paulo needs to start with Evans, then RCG - Davey - Kaufusi - Stone. Or Lane swap with Davey
Fergo brings us so much out of our own end.
yeah he has had the odd mistake but man you guys are harsh. He's still a great player and no way he should be dropped.
Ferguson is as good as tits on a bull. Hes playing like a park footballer not an Origin, Australian rep and premiership winner.
I'd start with Davey. Deserves it
1 to 6 agree - word is Moses might be out, so Smith or Field come in. Smith for me as he has a better game in him.
Can't really argue with the rest of them.
