Team List Thursday

I think for the 1st time in a very long time we have a premiership calibre team let alone pack.

1. Michael Gordan - played origin

2. Semi - no need for me to comment we know what he brings

3. Jennings - Premiership winner, NSW Origin Winner and AUstralian Rep - arguably the best centre in the world

4. Takka - Consistent, needs to stay fit.

5. Gutherson - NSW U20's with a huge amount of talent - hopefully remains injury free

6. Norman - arguably our best player last year. Only 23 years of age and getting better every game

7. Foran - premiership winner and NZ captain - need i say anymore

8. Mannah - NSW origin forward. Had his best season last year and looks super fit this year

9. Peats - Tough as nails with plenty of mongrel and ticker. Needs to stay fit

10. Junior Paulo - a one man army, wrecking ball who can pass for a big man

11. Beau Scott - Premiership winner, NSW orgin winner, Australian Rep - As tough as they come.

12. Manu Mau - the incredible hulk. Its scary to think how good this guy will be once he clocks up some more games

13. Choc - Premiership winner, NSW orgin winner, Australian Rep - As tough as they come. Needs to stay fit

14. Pritchard - Plenty of potential - needs to stay fit

15. Alvaro - a weapon that will be better with more 1st grade

16. Tepai - See above

17. Wicks - Mobile and a lot quicker than most people realise.

  • Why is Pritchard in there, no need for another hooker champ, chuck in tanginoa or Edwards
  • Teams who are consistently dominant are less likely to carry injuries.

Pritchard has played only a handful of games these last few years due to injury, he wouldn't be at my club let alone in the team.
  • Edwards in for pritchard
  • The Pritchard idea is an interesting one and I'd experiment with it in the trials. 1) Peatsey is a gutsy defender that loves to play 80min - but he needs to be more of an attacking threat by running the ball more. Maybe giving him a spell will freshen him up to do that. 2) two less interchanges will mean opposition forwards are more tired - some fresh speed legs running at them maybe more effective than another big body.
Edwards is a more than handy backup when the injuries come.
  • Our hookers are two injury prone to start the season with only one. Maybe after a few games. The 13 pick themselves perhaps your bench might get tweeked.
  • No Edwards, are you mad Efl. His another Ma'u only bigger and I wouldn't have Watmough and Scott in team at same time.

  • I'd have Nelson before Pritchard or De Gois. You need a utility on the bench which neither Pritchard or De Gois cover. If Peats wants to play 80 min then Nelson can play backrow, otherwise is something happens to Peats Nelson can play dummy half.

I'd also have Gower instead of Alvaro given Gower's experience & can back prop or backrow. Given Moeroa's increase in size I'd be looking at him playing more prop than backrow rotating him & Wicks with Mannah & Paulo.
