  • Three Parramatta Eels will sit out this week's trial game against the Penrith Panthers injured.

Nathan Brown injured his leg in pre-season but is expected to be fit for Round One.

Wiremu Greig will also sit the game out with a calf injury but is expected to be fit for Round One.

Maika Sivo is continuing his recovery from an ACL rupture last year.

As mentioned earlier this week, Haze Dunster has been ruled out for the season after suffering an MCL, PCL and ACL injury in last week's trial game.

  • I hope that's not an indication of the run on bench.

    • Doubt it. Niukore will be there when he returns from suspension.

    • Nathan Brown will be good to go Round 1 as well. He either comes off the bench due to lack of match fitness or he will force one of Lane, Papail'i or Matto to the bench

  • As much as I used to like Mahoney, Papali, Niukore and Stone but since they've abandoned ship I'd rather see other players get opportunities.

    • and cruel our chances for 2022?

      • Not necessarily. Giving other players opportunities could just as much enhance the Eels chances this year. Generally players leaving don't always give 100,%

        • when the players you mention have proved their quality over the replacements....

"Generally players leaving don't always give 100%" - that is one of the biggest myths out there, up with Lattrell Mitchell is a good bloke and the Roosters don't overspend the salary cap...pllleassse

professional players put in - do they risk damaging their reputation to take it easy.....

          • Obviously the players I mentioned are of better quality at the moment. However, they like all other players had to start somewhere and be given an opportunity. How do we know for sure that other players coming through aren't of equal or better quality unless they given the chance to play..There needs to be a mix of players given chances so they can prepare for 2023. It depends how this year progresses.

            • they have to earn their position not just be handed it. how do they earn it? when they get a chance through injury, suspension they need to make themsleves irreplaceable
