TEAM LIST: NRL squad named for Round One

The Dyldam Parramatta Eels squad has been named to take on the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles in the club’s opening match of the 2015 NRL Telstra Premiership at Pirtek Stadium, Parramatta.

Centre Brad Takairangi and half back Chris Sandow will both return to the field after sustaining injury in the 2015 NRL Auckland Nines, and Takairangi will make his first NRL appearance for the Blue and Gold alongside fellow new recruits Beau Champion, Reece Robinson, Anthony Watmough and Danny Wicks.

Ticket sales have been strong for this game, so we encourage all General Admission Eels Members, and all GA ticket holders to arrive early to ensure entry. Pirtek Stadium is subject to capacity restrictions and Members and fans may be unable to enter once the ground reaches its legal capacity.

There are still reserved seat tickets available via Ticketmaster, and General Admission Members can choose to upgrade to a reserved seat for the game from just $10.

For Members who have not yet received their Membership card, there will be Membership Services team Members located at Gates A/B and G/H from 4.15pm to help you on the night.

    • I suspected Taka would be in the starting team this year. He was room mates with Hoppa during the USA trip. They had photos up on social media of the two hanging out and building a relationship

    • I think BA is expecting a fast paced game this year, that's why he's carrying two utility players on the bench. Also expect Sandow to touch the ball 2 to 4 times a set, with him running the ball alot.
  • Strong team.  Looks like we may well see Wicks in the side in the early rounds.  Happy with the centre pairing.

  • Hope Takairangi and Sandow (esp) are fit and ready to go....

    Paulo *bleh*

  • Best eels forward pack for about 10 years

  • geez, pretty good team/squad. Forward pack is niiiice! hope the guys in the backs can gel and perform

    • Gower only played back row last year due to injuries. He's a prop by trade.
    • Mobile packs will be an advantage this year. Good ones anyway.
    • Uhhhh I agree Seffa goes against the grain every time he steps on the field
  • miatch BA have never coached a game of first grade football without Super Sef.

Besides that useless plodder being named looks a strong side.

Parra fan on The Hill replied to Roy tannous's discussion Eels offering Jordan samrani
"I really like Samrani but if JR decides to give him up for MB I think that is a massive mistake.
IMO Samrani should be 1st drop for either centre/ wing if one of our starters is out. Brian Kelly is bog average and not going to get better.
