TEAM LIST | Eels v Cowboys, Round Nine - Eels Blogs

The Parramatta Eels Round Nine side to take on the North Queensland Cowboys at 1300SMILES Stadium on Friday 29 April for Round 9 of the NRL Telstra Premiership has been named by Head Coach Brad Arthur.

Arthur has named one change to his side that came away with a 18-12 over the Penrith Panthers at ANZ Stadium in Round 8 of the competition, with Kenny Edwards named in the halves alongside Corey Norman, replacing Brad Takairangi who has been ruled out with injury.

Arthur's extended bench includes Beau Scott, Daniel Alvaro, David Gower, Siosaia Vave, John Folau, Will Smith, Marata Niukore and Cameron King.

The clash kicks off at 7:50pm.

Edwards at 6 is a poor selection. Not only does it weaken our halves but it also weakens his impact of the bench. Surely there is a better option?

  There's no other safe option. There's no point moving Gutherson from fullback - he plays like a second five-eighth anyway.

  As strange as it sounds Gower is also capable of filling in at 6.

why not put gut at 6 hoff at fb and bring in our best wing option in wenty whether it be george jennings or even bring in will smith out the back or in the halves

For fuck sake BA doesn't like to pick from outside a core group yljenny at 5/8 puts more pressure on normz just pick smith or gutho at 6.
