  • The Warriors’ big money bid for Cowboys and Kiwis forward Jason Taumalolo has failed.

The 21-year-old today announced he will take a pay-cut to stay near family and friends in Townsville until the end of 2017.

The Warriors sent a delegation across the ditch in an attempt to persuade the powerful back-rower to move to Auckland.

News Corp reports that Taumalolo sacrificed up to $800,000 to remain at the club that signed him when he was just 13.

The news comes a day after official confirmation that the Warriors lost out to the Eels on signing Kieran Foran.
At 17 Taumalolo became the youngest player to debut for the Cowboys and was named in the NRL All-Stars side earlier this month after making four Test appearances for the Kiwis last year.

    • Thanks
Sorry meant second last sentence about Foran

  • Haha yeah in that one article he mentions Foran going to Eels, but then staying with Manly, and then Sharks may miss out to Titans for DCE's signature, but Manly won;t want to lose him.

So we have Manly, Eels, Sharks and Titans in the article... yep throwing shit alright

"I really like Samrani but if JR decides to give him up for MB I think that is a massive mistake.
IMO Samrani should be 1st drop for either centre/ wing if one of our starters is out. Brian Kelly is bog average and not going to get better.
