Tanah Boyd today has been given permission by the Gold Coast Titans that he can look elsewhere for the 2025 season.

Now I will say I don't think Tanah anything special as a starting 6 or 7. However he can play those positions effectively, more effectively than the options we have at our club now (excluding Dylan). I'm not pitching for us to sign him as a starting 6 or 7, sure as I mentioned he could fill in there but I'd try and sign him as a 14 as Tanah can play hooker as well.

Hooker is a bone of contention for next season, I've seen many say we should try and sign Jayden Brailey (who wants a lot of $$) and I'm not the biggest fan of that. Personally I'd stick with Hands for 1 more season and see what we can sign or produce next season (for 2026) in regards to a 9.

I don't see Tanah commanding a lot of money, he's fallen very far down the pecking order with Carter Gordon signing with the club. If we offer him 14 or even a depth position that leads to him closer to a call up than the Titans we could get him. Tanah can play 6, 7, 9 all positions we need depth in, he's played some NRL (more than Weaver and Hawkins) and he can goal kick.

Otherwise and more for your thoughts...

Some of you may have seen numerous times on this site I've been an advocate for us trying to nab Blake Mozer from the Broncos. Billy Walters is currently the Broncos starting 9 and this is the purest case of nepotism I've ever seen in the NRL, Billy is trash. He was signed from the Tigers who were trash and given the starting 9 because Homer Walters is the coach. In my opinion Mozer could be a star, the Broncos look better each time he's on the field, Walters isn't close in terms of his ability as a 9. If I was Ryles and Co I'd be asking some questions to Mozer's manager in regards to how happy he is playing 2nd fiddle to Bog average Billy. I'd do this ahead of signing Tanah but if we can't get Mozer I don't mind the idea of Tanah at 14.

  • He would be a handy backup but will probably be a little pricey for that and looking for more.

  • He wants to be a starter so I doubt he would come here to play second fiddle to Moses.

  • I think Tevaga is a better shout for 14 since he can play in the forwards also. Boyd is a great back-up but he would never come here for anything less than a spot in the 17.

  • No thanks, very average player.

Don't need mediocre players coming to this club.

  • Depends how much the GC will kick in. Goes ok at 9. Would have to get him at a bargain price.

Mozer is a gun. Would be a great buy.

  • I would take any player that is of NRL standards. It's not like we can be picky lol.  Always think it's funny reading people slag players on here when we are trotting out with a squad half full of total plodders that wouldn't make most other NRL teams. At the right price you'd be an idiot not to snap up anyone at all considering where we are and how poor our depth and recruitment is.  I'd doubt we could actually convince the kid to come to our club. Maybe Brad Arthur could invite him to dinner and get the job done as a gesture of goodwill for paying him out for a year .
