Takka to hooker, rotate off the bench with kaysa?

If mosses comes this year why not put takka in hooking position come off the bench for kaysa and be a utility player if injury occurs. He is too good of player to leave out of the side. He had 1 bad game against the titans so ppl writing him off just like gutho last year lol. He has a good passing and kicking game and very strong in defence ( even thoughsome ppl think defence is s$%t). I bet semi will get done and be gone for rest of the year so i don't think any of starting 13 will lose their spot in the team ( hoffman needs a big month of footy). When Kenny comes back the bench could be: Kenny, takka and 2 of our strongest forwards available what a dynamic bench!

  • sure if you want him to retire after a year with a chronic back issue

  • So was Mateo but he could play hooker, 5/8 and backrower. Both got similar skills sets. Yes takka seems to have chronic leg injuries but still he has the skill, I'm not saying start with takka I'm saying when kaysa starts to drop off a bit in intensity. Teams keep running hard at him it tires him out.
    • So Nathan Brown is currently playing hooker at the back end of the game once Kaysa gets tired, and i think he's got better delivery then Takka, so i wouldnt waste a bench sport for a Centre to play hooker.

  • You seem to know what your talking about bush coach
  • He is too big to play hooker. I agree that he should be a utility player off the bench, but not to cover the hooking role. If Kaysa went down and needed to be replaced Edwards is a better option, although it takes away from his running game. Perhaps it would be Moses who slotted into hooker (based on your assumption that he comes this year) with Taka in the halves or centre, with Moses still defending in the halves.

    • Like your thoughts on it thank you
  • A hooker doesn't just need to play dummy half, or King (or even Robson) would be playing there. A hooker also needs to defend in the middle and work extremely hard getting up in their faces and then back ready for the next tackle. Takairangi is an edge player. He's not known for his work rate.
    • While you are correct about that, Kaysa is struggling to play 80 minutes and is currently our weakest defensive link in the team. We need a bench hooker because Kaysa gets exposed playing 80 minutes.

Currently Kaysa has 20 missed tackles
      Norman has 13
      Gutherson 9

Usually the missed tackle leaders on any team are in the halves, yet Kaysa is well ahead in our team.

League leaders for missed tackles are all halves:
      Maloney 34
      Elgey 29
      Moses 24 (uh oh)
      Widdop 24
      Hunt 21 (after 6 rounds)
      Milford 20 (after 6 rounds)
Gillett 20 (after 6 rounds) the first non half to appear besides Kaysa who racked up 20 after 5 rounds
