Tahu 'killing it' at Eels training By Todd Balym

PARRAMATTA veteran Luke Burt says Timana Tahu is "killing it'' in his return to rugby league and the Eels winger is keen to play outside the dual international in 2010.Tahu is one of Parramatta's three major signings for the 2010 season as the Eels go about rectifying their heartbreaking grand final loss to Melbourne. After two seasons in rugby union the 29-year-old has returned to league joining a star-studded backline at Parramatta headlined by Dally M medallist Jarryd Hayne.Burt said Tahu has been outstanding in the first four weeks of pre-season training and he is excited about what the former Wallaby will bring to the game next year."You just have to watch him, he is killing it actually,'' said Burt. "He is just that explosive and skillful. I think deep down he is probably happy (to be back) ... the Parramatta club and especially myself are very happy to see him back because the stuff he can bring to the game is unbelievable. He is going to be someone that you wouldn't mind playing outside of. I would love to be on the left wing outside T. That would be my plan. We have got great competition for positions this year. That is good as well. We're in a good position for this time of the year.''Burt said the Eels other key signings, Dragons prop Justin Poore and Roosters forward Shane Shackleton, had also settled in well at their new club. And while the Eels aren't short of motivation heading into the 2010 NRL season, Burt says he won't be watching any replays of the side's seven-point grand final loss to Melbourne."I don't think anyone has mentioned it to be honest,'' he said of the bitter defeat. "I don't think I will ever (watch it). I haven't watched 2001 and I don't think I'll watch 2009.''http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/nrl/tahu-killing-it-at-eels-training/story-e6frexnr-1225808714487

  • good to hear
  • This is awesome. The backline will be very competitive now. Only problem is that too much competition leads to injury...
    • well at least this year if a back does get injured or is out due to rep duties, we wont have to resort to the likes of talima tautai (who i did hear something about him joining the sharks, confirmation?).

i still cant imagine who will be dropped, but i know wenty is gonna have one hell of a side as well.
      • Yeah pretty sure he joined the Sharks.
        • Ya's got it right and we sharkies fans are only to happy to have him as I'm sure he will be a great asset to us next year...THANKS PARRA!!!
          • Haha... good luck mate. You'll need it to get more than one good half of footy out of the lazy bastard.
          • haha good on ya mate. poor sharks. wouldnt be surprised if he blossoms into a quality back. the amount of players that have left parra and done so is ridiculous
            • need i remind the sharkie fans (and the parra fans at that) about tautai's shocking record with catchin the footy. for those who dont remeber, or choose not to as is my case, he dropped the easiest catch againts the tigers late last year at ANZ stadium. no1 infront of him and only burt back, he spills his lollie..... tsk tsk. poor bugger. not to mention the disiplinary thingy he went trough a couple months ago. good luck to the bloke. im sure Ricky will straighten him out, that is when he's not yelling at referees in hotel rooms. :D
              • Yeah i remember that. It was horrible.
            • If Ricky has any sense he won't let him go anywhere near the backline and start moulding him immediately into a second rower
