Tahu. Is he the weak link?

3 tries down his side probably cause of his reads in defence, will other sides target him? Before you berate me, I am not being negative, just an observation. I like the bloke.

  • To be honest Normo, despite Tahu's penchant for the big hit, his defence can be a little suspect. Not that he falls off tackles - rather he often simply makes the wrong decision in defence.

Nonetheless, I'm more than happy he's there!
  • Last week he was brilliant in defence just had a off day today.
  • Well hopefully it's an off day. The perfectionist that he is, he will study the tapes and work on his defence.

  • He is jujst getting his head around that he is playing in league again. He will be right soon.
  • Well if he gets his defence right ther ain't much wrong with our line.
  • Normo - Tahu looks like he hit the weights big time in the off season. He deadest looks huuuuuge.

Some players can handle a little extra bulk but for mine Tahu looks a little slow off the mark and laterally compared to when he last played for parra.

My suggestion would be for him to lose 3 - 5 kilos or the smaller, pacier centres are going to make him look silly on a few occassion this year.

Unlike Rugby Yawnion you get one on one with an attacker quite often in league, especially in the centres and I just think Tahu needs to sharpen up a bit.
  • I think is just going an adjustment stage. Not too far away, he will have a whale of a game and blow everyone away. Watch out.....
  • I think he did make some bad reads which led to tries but I think the worry is inside him with mortimer and mateo defending next too each other. The other side is solid with ben smith and jeff robson but i think mortimer and mateo will see alot of traffic coming their way.
  • I thought he was fine. I wouldn't put the three tries conceded down to him either. He made a few errors in judement, but that one from the scrum he was forced to follow his inside man.

He'll be OK going forward - the bigger problem is learning to play for 80 minutes. We were lucky it was hot and their forwards tired.
