Just saw the Titans- Tigers game. Brandy said he'd kick for goal with 4 mins to go. I'd keep the ball and try to keep them down their end. Tigers ended up kicking making it 6-2 and fucked up another 2 times giving away a stupid head high penalty to get marched up field and then couldn't manage to ground the ball in their goal.

The Spoon Parra team's would lose like this. Both useless and jinxed.

What would you have done 4-2 up with a penalty and 4 mins to go on their tryline?

  • I couldn't believe they kicked for the two points.

I would have played the ball and looked to kick on the 5th and get it into the in goal and force the drop out.

Then again Brooks is a shit kicker and I would have had very little confidence in him getting the ball to stay in goal and not go dead and give away a 7 tackle set.

Realistically they should have defused the Titans bomb at the end to hold on for the win but when you are down on confidence, shit like that happens.

I wonder if Papali'i is thinking what the fuck have I done. He is a confidence player and that club doesn't have a single drop of it amongst the lot of them.

    • Agreed Bem, they should have gone for a try. That would have to be the worst NRL game I have ever seen. A complete debacle. Watch Papa go back to obscurity next season.

  • The question is, who called to take the 2? The box or the field?

  • In a game like that I'm probably taking the two. Obviously you want to complete the next set and kick well too. The Tigers are just trash and can't do the basics so yeh losing a game with a try on the bell was always going to happen. Good luck next year Ice. Save that paycheque, invest your money wisely to get something out of it at least.

    • 2 points 4 points same mate same but why give up field position.

  • Really negative call to take the 2 with 4 minutes to go, what we saw is losing can become a habit - set up camp on the try line, get a repeat set if not the Titans are in their own territory possibly with only 1 set. Rugby league can be cruel game at times.

    • To be fair Mick, neither team deserved to win that game. They should have taken the points off the Titans, given both teams a pat on the back, and said "thanks for coming".

      • Agree Meelk, anyone that paid for tickets for last nights game deserve a refund.

  • 2 or 4 points in front isn't enough so they should of taken the tap then put the ball in goal for a repeat set or score. Sitting there watching it when they took the kick for goal I said to my misses, Tigers are going to loose it because they have forggoten how to win. Playing out the set followed by a repeat set or Titans working it out from inside their 10 would of taken the best part of 2 minutes.

  • I think the 2 points was a negative mindset play. It reminded me of the Eels in the bad years when we were down on confidence.

There was no advantage to the Tigers by moving to 6-2. All they did was permit the Titans to have access to the ball down the other end of the field.

Crazy decision in my books. I wonder who made the call?
