Just interested in getting some opinion on the tackle where D. Brown lost the ball and then got smashed in the game against Manly. From what I saw Brown had well and truly lost the ball when the much heavier Manly defender belted him. The tackle was applauded and replayed by the commentary team. My question is - was that tackle much different to the tackle Kikau has copped 2 weeks for against the Dragons. I just think our aeels get a lot less protection from the red than other teams. If it was the other way around I reckon we would have been penalised at least.

The tackle was fine. It wasn't late at all. It was a shit hospital pass from Mau.
Not late, shit pass.
Yeah , ok just didn’t seem different in that neither player had the ball when the tackler came in with his head down and completed the tackle. But I appreciate what you guys say. Always better to hear another perspective from other Eels fans.
nothing wrong with the tackle. Manu just trying to fuck us up in ways other than his 'defence'. Looks mean though.
No problem with the tackle at all, Parra players need to smash more opposition players like this just a terrible hospital pass to him
Kikau got done for a shoulder charge, not a late tackle. In any event, by simply touching the ball Dylan Brown was deemed to be in possession and therefore fair game. It was a great hit.
He was fair game. It was a great hit. Hated the pass being thrown but loved the way Dylan bounced straight back to his feet and shrugged it off. He's no Josh Dugan!
Legit hit and he nailed him... Tafua channelled his inner Steve Mattai... sadly gone are the days where someone else could channel their inner Mitch Allgood and punch him in the head.
i never thought much of mitch allgood as a player til that day - he got up and punched matai and he earnt some respect from me.
one of the best memories of an eels v shebeagles match in memory.
