"Damn it HKF, I was gonna ask where did Didly Squat come from to look them up.
Next you'll say Hock isn't coming."

"I am not too disheartened by that. If we got him then great but he is 29, having a few injuries and though a really good Winger he is an average Centre. I would rather Murray Taulagi."
"Spot on, other clubs are starting to announce signings but we have signed didly squat, no didly is not a winger."
"I'm more interested in who the Eels are going to sign to replace Lomax instead of worrying about the players that don't want to be at Parra. When are we going to hear some good positive signing news or it that it"

You can add Penrith to that if they get James Tamou
According to Evans (the guy NRL hired to review TPA's late last year) there are approx. $10m worth of TPA's every year - & they are NOT evenly distributed. NRL notes there are $15m worth of TPA's in 2015 on their official www.nrl.com site.
Putting that in perspective, comparing our alleged massive $3m rorting scandal ( over 5 years ) that still pales in comparison to supposed legal TPA's that would be $50m - $75m over 5 years that is NOT evenly distributed. (oh, sorry you can take almost $3m out of that pie with our dodgy TPA's ). I wonder how much of that pie do Knights or Tigers players get.
Where's the real scandal ? Is it any wonder RL is plagued with so many salary cap scandals every few years ? Like Bennett noted in the coaches review this cap turns "honest men into cheats".
I'm actually like Greenberg (not joking) . He's clever & politically savvy - but he's taking the easy , lazy, selfish way out. The NRL needs to ask themselves what is their real vision of the game ? At the moment NRL is just about preserving the status quo & the illusion they are in control with their 'fair' & 'equal' cap. Which every man & their dog knows is a lie.
Instead of asking deeper questions, they're wanting to affirm the status quo more than ever, with talks of off field caps. They've even stopped pretending to do anything else (what ever happened to the fabled NRL war chest they were going to use to keep big names in the game).
Rest assured, more scandals will follow. Eventually, the NRL will manage to catch another club that is trying to get ahead & keep it's best players. There's no if, it's when.
If you weren't a RL supporter, you'd be inclined to think RL is a dirty game where pretty much all clubs cheat. It's a great advertisement for rival codes. I love the game, but the NRL central lacks any real vision.
The tragedy of this is that it is as much of a turn off to NRL supporters as the super league war was. I can hardly be interested in league now because of the Super league wars....yes I hold a long grudge.
Now the NRL is being run by people who are not exactly transparent. If the League HQ knew of club's that were over the cap and did nothing then why is it not the same as match fixing. On team has 10 internationals ...another 3 players and they could have a international team.
Me personally, I love Parra but between the NRL officials running the game , the referees and their non compliance of their referring, the panel on the sideline that claim insanity when they make some of their decisions and now the open warfare against Parra by the NRL and bitter bitter people who you wish had nothing to do with the game. The struggle now guys is that the NSWRL are struggling to hold their relevance to any ownership to the NRL because of the dominance of the QLD teams and the influence of News Corp to perhaps own the NRL outright. Its only going to take Newsorp to take over channel 9 and stop sponsoring NRL and then all the leagues clubs will have to become aligned to the new owners or look for a completion of their own. We all know there are too many Sydney teams now and there is still a push to make it national again even though it is not being openly talked about. Stadium upgrades to hold larger crowds ? Think about it guys. Where are they going to get the larger crowds from?...LESS SYDNEY CLUBS. All we are seeing here is the start of the war.
The salary cap at work folks, doing a fantastic job of evening out the talent.
