Stubborn BA?

I'm really not anti-BA but my patience is thinning.

It's like he must be aware of what most people see and think and want and yet he does the opposite by sticking with an original idea in the face of facts.

We can't be a force and also have players like Hodgo, Dunster, Simonson, Makatoa & Jake in a side that also has BC, MS, RM, SL, DB & MM who are never consistent performers.

Maybe he's too nice? Wants to be their mate? Or ... ?

  • Yup, gotta agree with the under performers and inconsistent points. As well as the roster issue.

I've always been pretty firm that BA can coach a team, and it's a sure bet that if he was at Rorters or Melbourne he could win a comp standing on his head. BUT .. I've always been very critical of his roster methods and refusing to hire external, and sticking with and re-signing players that are underfuckingwhelming , or paying too much for blokes that are more disposable than some would have you beleive.  How much of that list fall directly on him , not sure , but either way it's his job to get what he needs.

Last nights schmozzle ain't even all that , Gutherson doesn't get the 10 mins and it's a totally different ball game and we probably win, at 4-0 up in the first few minutes everyone had forgotten about Davey thing and BA was a genius. It's how everyone including the coach went full retard after the binning that speaks volumes to me. Moses tucked his head into his shell like the absaloute flat track bully the whole NRL knows he is , and BA started throwing darts at his dartboard to see who was coming on next.

To be honest , I'd hoped that Hodgson would've provided some on feild stability to settle this trait that's dogged us for decades , but nope, and it seems whatever leadership Hodgsons  showing around training , BA was also hoping he'd be showing it on the paddock hence why he's leaving him on there so long. Otherwise I can't explain this choice.

We obviously have zero money in our cap, chasing blokes like Davey and that NSW cup las from Wests , you'd have to think we are full up there. We have massively over committed to a bunch of players that simply aren't worth it. Moses and Brown are paid like royatly , and last night was the first time this season Browns forfilled his end of the bargain. And yet Moses falls off his perch wtf !

I agree , it's like BA is too soft and the players know it. He booted Dylbro up the arse a fortnight ago and we've seen a massive improvement, it's about time that a few others got the same talking too.

    • What happened to the $1 million we had in the kitty and the fact we were chasing an X factor player?

If Laurie is the X factor we are seriously deep shit. I mean if he can't crack it at the spoon favourited how in the hell is ge what we need? Seriously we are a dumb fucking club.

      • Where did we have a million in the kitty mate ? Was that a story I missed cause I actually didn't hear anything about a million buck kitty.

        • When they said they were after an X factor player it was documented on many sites that we had cash available and it was around a million. It was even on NRL 360.

          • Far out , I don't see how.  If we have a million in the kitty then big questions need to be asked as to how we going into a season with that much left over.  It's neglectfull to be honest on the recruitment and retention team. Not that I'd be shocked.  Their limits seem to be signing players like Davey.

            • I'd say the money came from the NRL finally setting the Cap and they put the cap up quite a bit. It went up 25% from last year, 9.6M to 12,1M. This was only finalised Dec/Jan this year when most of the players had been signed.

I'm not a huge O'Neill fan, but if all the contacts he has organised recently are fixed price, not a % of the cap, we may actually be players in the market.

  • Defense and lack of resilience is what I'm throwing stones at.Our onfield leadership from Moses and Hodgson once Gutho was binned was poor.

They just showed no resilience at all.Jnr Paulo co captain doesn't talk so your actions have to show up and they didn't when the team needed it.I don't blame the coach.I blame our senior players, there in the moment and if they don't act or lead the rest follow and it goes to shit.

  • He might have Oppositional Defiance Disorder.

  • Not enough grey matter Dave, many on here have been saying this for a while ... you can see it in his press conferences - not a bright boy and relies heavily on chasing the collosion. No creativity, no game management, no defence and definitely NFI simple.
