Strip the journalists of their jobs

The amount of bias against our club is beyond a joke. Why weren't these so called journalists giving it to the sharks when they were guilty of taking peptides. Absolute joke. Time to hand down your finding Green burg. I'm sick of this. If I were parra and we have nothing to play for I would be playing a combination of the under 20s side and the Wentworthville

  • Well for the Daily Telecrap Phil Rothfield is sports editor and a Sharks fan so he would have kept it to a minimum.
    • Rothfield probably caused us the biggest drama at the time by printing his private text convo with Damian Irvine right when it hit. He's not a friend of the Sharks.
  • Yeh they all pretty much useless. Stopped reading most of those guys articles years ago. They're lack of knowledge of league combined with complete bias makes there word worthless. League reporters gone to top of the scumbag totem pole over govt officials n parking rangers.
  • For the grammar nazis I know it's their, their, their, their..
    • Actually mate "their" denotes possession, the one you're (not your) after is "they are", contracted to "they're ".

SIEG HEIL! Now don't do it again or you will be hung with piano wire. ACHTUNG!

  • Maybe we should have a poll on what should happen to the journos who to get rid of.
  • Parra are a popular club. The journos know this. We're a glamour club. But unlike Manly, we actually have heaps of supporters.
  • Hahaha. I'm really sorry but this is hilarious. Every single day for months on end articles were out about our situation. More would pop up a day before games at frequent intervals over a couple of years.

Seriously, you must've had your head in the sand if you think the 'journo's' weren't out for us with an absolute vengeance. It was everywhere you looked, with the so-called league experts Massoud, Bourbon Beccy and Hooper, calling for us (even predicting) to be kicked out of the comp, that we wouldn't be able to survive etc etc. I note the same level of interest wasn't there when legitimate questions were being asked as to if Dank caused this much trouble over a matter of weeks at the Sharks, what happened while he was at Manly....but that's another story.

Sorry but this is just another drama for the papers to write about.
    • Yes there were reports in the papers daily but it was a really big story. 1st of its kind. Club doping it's players.
Although there were reports in the papers, social media and online I don't remember the viciousness of other teams fans or the media in suggesting the Sharks should get rubbed out. If anything the general consensus was to wait and see what evidence was presented and to deal with the club then. The Sharks got off very lightly considering players took the guilty plea and pleaded ignorance.
At Parra we have been found guilty without a shred of evidence being presented to the public and yet there are sections of the media demanding we sit out the year, not including the majority of opposition fans.
I may be a little biased but this is the worst case of trial by media I've ever seen in living memory. This will leave the NRL and Greenburg with no choice but to punish and punish hard.
    • I think it's just that you notice it more when it's your club. It was very vicious and a lot of opposition supporters didn't show any pity towards us and still don't. That's fine. That's the way it goes.
We did end up with a small suspension but only because it should've been dealt with a year before when the ASADA investigation was complete but they didn't notify NRL of this, so punishment could be handed out. It was a 12 mth suspension backdated due to ASADA incompetence.
Anyway, we will still have stuff to deal with over this for many years to come. Again, that's the way it goes. But trust me, the articles were there back then and still pop up now.

"I did modern day as 1998 onwards as I didn't see them play, as some here haven't. Where I believe majority of people here have seen all the modern day players play.
Plus it frees up some spots like we all know who 5/8 will be but now no idea."
