Storm unchanged for Eels clash

Official Storm Teamsheet follows: Head Coach Craig Bellamy has today named an unchanged team for Sunday's blockbuster clash against the Parramatta Eels at AAMI Park. After Monday night's impressive 30-16 win over the Bulldogs at AAMI Park, Bellamy felt there was no need to change a squad that had performed exceptionally well against the then-competition leaders. Making their Storm debuts on Monday night were forwards Adam Woolnough and Atelea Vea, and both have retained their spots for Sunday's game. Assistant Coach Kevin Walters believes both Woolnough and Vea contributed significantly to Storm's win and deserved to retain their spots. "Both were very good," said Walters. "In the NRL these days you need all 17 players performing, and performing at their best. "Adam's played a lot of first-grade at other clubs, Penrith and Newcastle, but this was his first match here and he was very impressive. "The same can be said with Atelea, he came on in the second half and did some really good things both with the ball and without it. "I'm sure he'll be looking for some extra games and extra time on the field in the coming weeks." With a high rate of injuries impacting on clubs across the NRL in the opening weeks of the season, it's a bonus when the same team can be chosen two weeks in a row. Unfortunately for Storm centre Chase Stanely has been ruled out for the season following a knee reconstruction, while back-rower Sika Manu will miss the next 4-6 weeks with an ankle injury. "It's very important that you can keep some stability amongst the playing group," said Walters. "We've had some major injuries this year already and that's one of the concerns for all clubs and players and coaches to be injury free. "It's been a huge focus this season with injuries to players at all different clubs and we haven't missed out there with our own problems. "So it's nice to be able to field the same team two weeks in a row, it builds some stability and confidence amongst the playing group." Anthony Quinn and Jaiman Lowe round out the squad, named as 18th and 19th man respectively. 1 Billy Slater 2 Justin O'Neill 3 Dane Nielsen 4 Beau Champion 5 Matt Duffie 6 Gareth Widdop 7 Cooper Cronk 8 Troy Thompson 9 Cameron Smith [c] 10 Bryan Norrie 11 Adam Blair 12 Kevin Proctor 13 Todd Lowrie 14 Ryan Hinchcliffe 15 Atelea Vea 16 Adam Woolnough 17 Jesse Bromwich 18 Anthony Quinn 19 Jaiman Lowe

  • Big call to leave Quinn out of the side...
  • We beat them in the forwards. If our halves can aim up like saturday, I think we have a decent chance. and we always play better as underdogs.
  • Not if you have two of the best up and coming wingers in the game in Justin Oneill and Matt Duffie.
  • I think if fit Quinn will come in for O'neill who had a pretty ordinary game against the dogs.
  • Come on Parra smash them!!
