Storm lose bustling forward for season

Melbourne Storm forward Nelson Asofa-Solomona has been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to injury.

Asofa-Solomona dislocated his left elbow in a training drill at Storm’s Tuesday morning session, the injury will see him ruled out for the remainder of the year and the possibility of New Zealand selection for the end of year Four Nations tour.

Storm Football Director Frank Ponissi said; “Nelson’s injury is bitterly disappointing for him and the team, particularly with the impressive form he has shown this season.

“While we are disappointed to lose Nelson, a feature of our team this season has been our depth and the resilience of the players to come into the side and play their role. We have no doubt whoever replaces Nelson, will come in and do just that.”

  • By total coincidence I turned in the tram this evening and standing right next to me was big Nelson with his arm in a sling. He was very disappointed. He was gobsmacked when I told him I read of his misfortune on the Parramatta supporters web site. Seemed line a good fellow and didn't baulk at having a conversation with me. Up close he is an absolute monster. I offered him a contract and he laughed
