Stop Chasing Glory, First Chase Consistency.

I don't often blog or comment, but spend a lot of time on here reading and digesting information. What I have noticed, is that we always have some form of plan for glory "deliver a premiership in 3 years" , "3 in the next ten years" so on and so forth. Or we have a five year plan, that lasts 18 months. These are all crap, We need a realist who is going to say, our club is a basket case, our team has a poor culture and we just need some consistency. Recruit solid players, loyal team players, concentrate on team bonding. If players don't gel, move then on, I don't care if it's mannah, hoppa, or anyone. Build a core of players who play for each other, and new players come straight into a strong culture and buy straight into it ( if they don't, don't play them).I was at an event where the Swans were guest speakers after their latest premiership, and the coach explained how this is the cornerstone of success.Bringing quality players in will not work, if the majority don't play for each other on a week to week basis, and nothing will change until this is done.I can't see any recruitment helping until our group of individuals become a team.

  • How many top players have we recruits over the years that fail at parra (Adam Dykes), our success in recruitment has been in bulk (Bulldogs players Sunoco, McCracken, smith etc).
    • Sunoco, not sure how Dymock became Sunoco lol
  • Big name signings have never helped.
Best bet is banking on our juniors!!!
    • I think it needs to be a combination, maybe next year will bring that. A couple of experienced performers and promote some of our gun juniors. If we do that I just hope they stick with them and give it a chance to gel.
  • You don't think that Foran will help a group of individuals gel as a team? I though that is what he is praised for? Also can't help but think Scott will be barking orders and leading by exemple too. If we get another old head in Gordon to mentor French and play his natural position in fullback, I think we recruiting well.
We are opening doors and heading in the right direction. Just having trouble stepping through them at the moment.
    • How do we know if Foran can do that? He plays in a team that was already established as a tight unit, and came into a strong team culture. Just because he can thrive in that environment doesn't mean he can create it.
      I hope he can though.
  • I think sack all our players keep 3 or 4 of them the rest can go and buy other play willing to win game not just play for BA

    • Jeez Paul, I hate picking on you but that was fucken idiotic....
    • If only it was possible Paul....
  • What I think we need get rid of players like mannah Morgan sandow that have been in our team for years without making the team better than have a negative vibe on the club we are starting out with foran Scott continue to build on young and winning players
