Guth is not in the stage in his career to be expected to lead a team around from half, nor should he be expected to.
Hes what id call a halves side kick to be paired with a dominant half at this early stage in his career.
Hes a running half who compliments a half like Corey well and i can see the improvement in him this season. Hes a quick thinker with a footy brain, you can tell that by how he plays, hes got a lot of talent and hes not the issue with our halves atm.
The issue is having no NRL standard halves depth and we knew this before the season started, thats not Guthos fault and falls fairly and squarely onto BAs shoulders.
No coach is perfect, i don't expect Brad to be, theres very few downsides with brad, im prepared to overlook any mistakes he makes because hes earnt it.
We need to buy a utility half or stand in half asap for when Corey is out for whatever reason, either that or bring Taka into the halves and trial that again. Robson, Fogarty or Dargan just aint going to cut it at NRL level, the step up will be too much.
Keep behind the Guth, he's going well, and still is very young at 22.
Stick solid with Vanilla Guth!

Anyway I'll be staying on the Guth Bus
Lol nobodies been a bigger backer of Corey than me!
In all seriousness i did realise i was wrong in last years nines and admitted it, im tooting the horn on the Corey train now.
He's got a big heart and will only get even better than he already is.
Have faith in The Gush :)
(and if it doesn't work out - he can move wider and Jack Bird can play 6)
In time he will learn how to manage a game better and that's why he isn't our primary half when everyone is fit. When the Titans had a massive swing in momentum we should have kicked to the corners and chased hard, instead Gutherson and Robbo kicked in field and kept the ball in play which is what we didn't need. That will come with experience and playing with a good half in Corey.
As you've said he's a young player so he has time to learn this sort of thing. I did like his ability "as a half" when we were on top early in the piece, he took control of that opening 15 minutes when our forwards were dominating and he troubled the defence. Good signs there, just need to turn it into 80 minutes rather than 15, and that will come.
After 15 min we hardy completed a set so the forwards weren't dominating so the backs and particularly the halves had no room to work their magic. He is going alright at the moment and will develop into a good half eventually, in that I have faith.
