Yes, we've improved. But we certainly didn't light the comp on fire this year. Many of our wins were fairly unconvincing. I'll take a top 4 finish any day, but it still feels pretty hollow with how far off the rest of the top 4 we are. With the exception of a few good showings against good opposition, I think we were a couple of lucky wins over where we deserved to finish which was cusp top 8.
We had a big turn over of coaches for many years and I can understand many supporters putting absolute faith in BA because of the improvements made over the course of the last 4 years, but you compare that to fans like the Bulldogs who are out for blood and want their coach sacked midway through a season that would be the first time they've ever missed the top 8 under him.
I'll be more than happy to eat my words in the next couple of years if Parra can return to being the powerhouse they should be (premiership or not), but until I see a team that you can genuinely call a powerhouse in the NRL, I'm not going to give blind faith to a coach that still hasn't delivered.
