Statistics blogs (a question)

As you may have seen, recent stats blogs - namely those for the last round (pre & post games) didn't go up.

I felt as if there was limited interest in the stats themselves from the majority of members and scouring through records, past games and endless databases is time consuming and hard work on my part.

Making the stats as comprehensive as possible is always my primary aim when putting them together but as said, it is full-on and it does take time.

So I want to ask and gauge the following - who is genuinely interested in these stats? Is it worth my effort to continuing posting them up (pre & post games)?

FWIW, I have started and almost completed the Rd 11 pre-game stats blog, but I wanted to put this feeler blog out first to test the waters if stats blogs are worth continuing.

  • Pre game stats/history are of little relevance IMO, they don't predict or tell a story about the upcoming game. Post game stats are more informative of where the game was won & lost, and where there is room for improvement.
    • Some wanted the pre-game stats, so I started putting them up.
But there was seemingly little interest in them.

It's why I put the question up - to see what people are legitimately interested in seeing.

I take it your response is a yes to post-game stats then, TFF?

    • Post game stats yes. Perhaps some more of the "uncommon" ones not on the apps - how many slow/neutral/fast play the balls, 1 v 1 tackles etc. The stats which are actually needed (eg dont need to know how many scrums there were, or kicking metres).
    • Post game are great :)
    • i always enjoy reading the post games one Ricky.
  • I certainly enjoy reading both Ricky, I can understand the effort that goes into it and I'm very appreciative of it.

    • Cheers, Kevin.

It's good to know that there is support for them out there.

  • Thanks, Choc.
Hoping that more share similar sentiments and it'll feel worth my while to put up the stats blogs.

  • I'm a massive fan of the post-game stats! The effort definitely isn't lost on me, but I probably don't reply/participate in them enough, just enjoy reading them...so you probably don't feel the credit!

But they're definitely a highlight for me.

    • That's encouraging to know, Captain.
I guess because there's few comments on the blogs themselves, I feel like they're undervalued and not read as much.

But it's good to know that they're being read and appreciated.
Hopefully others are in the same boat & say so. Just so I can gauge who in particular enjoys the stats and how many there are overall that enjoy it.
