I'm never one who's up on the ins and outs of the stats these days. Thankfully guys like Ham and Ricky and others (sorry for no individual names guys and gals) provide a great service to the 1Eyed Eel Community here.

Anyway, enough rambling. Was trolling through some footy websites tonight and the following caught my eye enough to share - apologies if this is du0licatd anywhere - if so, mods please close this thread down

Line Break Assists

2nd - Mitchell Pearce with 12

3rd - James Maloney with 11

Have NSW selectors over-reacted? I was surprised by this stat. 1st by the way was Thurston with 13 and Cronk was 4th with 10...

Missed Tackles

Nate Myles was 5th with 40. Maloney was 2nd with 44.

Surprised by Myles there.

Try Assists

Thurston and Cronk 1 and 2. No NSW SOO player in the top 5.

Ominous for NSW fans.

Tackles

Top 5 tacklers all hookers. Does not feature Smith, Farah or Peats.

Hit Ups

Matt Scott at 5th the only SOO player in the top 5. Top 4 include Tolman, Graham, Surgess, Bromwich.

Slow news week - not much point to this blog, but found the above interesting with SOO around the corner.

Does anybody know where I can find stats such as leading pointscorer and tryscorer within the NRL website?

I'll be damned if I can find it.

Every stats company measures things slightly different, but my usual sources have Pearce with 5 line break assists; less than Willie Tonga. And he doesn't rank in the top 20 for try assists.

Maloney actually tops the line break assists, but I doubt he was ever going to get picked if Pearce wasn't playing.

  Also, you didn't call out Hayne as being joint-fifth for line breaks, and joint-second for tries scored. ;)

Pearce is out cause he did not conform to team rules. The selectors never over reacted, they just are trying to instill a standard. I salute them for their stance. To be honest, I think Hail King BA would do the same and not one of us would blink as we all know, the team comes before the individual.

Isn't Hayne joint third? I believe Matai is second with 10 and a group including Hayne and Sio have 9.
