JARRYD Hayne is certain to take his place in the NSW line-up for next Wednesday’s second State of Origin game, despite missing a Blues training session on Wednesday.

Hayne has a corked leg he suffered during Parramatta’s win over North Queensland last weekend and watched on as his NSW teammates trained at their Coffs Harbour base ahead of Origin II.

Officials said resting Hayne, who was man of the match in game one in Brisbane, was purely precautionary.

NSW legend Benny Elias believes the time is right for the Blues to snap their eight-year State of Origin drought, claiming the Queensland camp is much more unsettled than that of Laurie Daley's men.

Asked how Hayne could possibly repeat his stunning solo effort in game one, NSW halfback Trent Hodkinson said: “It comes naturally to him.

“He has been here for a long time and has experienced Origin over many years.

“He just has to do what he does best. Jarryd showed in game one what he is capable of.”

With the Blues so close yet so far from their first series victory since 2005, Hodkinson says the entire squad must step up and support Hayne for NSW to break the drought.

“Personally, I want to go to the next level,” Hodkinson said.

“My debut game, I was happy to get through that and stoked to get the win, but there’s things I’ve got to work on in attack and my kicking game.

“I want to take a few things to the next level.”

  • HIT THE PANIC BUTTON! HIT THE PANIC BUTTON! LOL

  • Maybe it's time I let everyone know I used to be 'Mack'.

  • get a grip, Hayne has been ordered to simply rest as much as possible for the game . Daley doesn't want him injured . PURE AND SIMPLE .

GI is not injured , he was probably told hey we need you in origin 2 to shine so fake injury and rest .

QLD do it every single year with HODGES . How many times have you heard HODGES injured and suddenly plays a blinder ?

Slater will be playing as he is playing for his career , a very poor season and GI in top form as well as Hayne HAS SLATER SURE TO LOSE HIS FB SPOT for QLD and Australia.

Slater is no threat he is made to look good by the players around him like smith, cronk, thurston,DCE,HODGES AND GI

Hayne doesn't have the same luxery  -  yet he proves time after time he beats the lot of them .  He does it in origin every year and he proved he was the best even as a centre for Australia (remember those tries ?,MAGIC).

HAYNE is clearly the worlds best player right now , even better than GI .

GI as fantastic as he is , has running game, passing game, skill and power ,speed, .

Hayne has all those plus a class kicking game .
