First of all let me declare my bias toward the Eels and club football more generally.I know that we have seen many a spectacular SOO match, but at what cost to the clubs does this come.As a result of Wednesdays match, at least seven players have injuries that will keep them out of the game for an extended period and several missed this weekends games Add to this the level of fatigue suffered by players post SOO, the question must be asked, IS IT ALL WORTH IT?In the last 3 years the Eels have lost Hayne for a period post SOO and therefore I say it is worth having,as long as no Eels players are not involved. The Queenslanders can win it 20 times in a row for all I care. Just as long as it doesn't cost Parra

  • Im over Origin. Much prefer fully contested NRL games. It stuffs up clubs' performances and is disruptive. Put it at the end of the season.
  • Cronk, Slater and Smith injured.

I'd say it was worth it.

  • SOO has an intensity and skill level that is matched by no other game of rugby league in the world. Without SOO we wouldn’t see the kind of incredible games that we do so its gotta stay i say. Not even grand finals are intense as SOO. The quality of some NRL games is absolute crap but SOO throws up top quality matches every single time.  If it costs a few injuries so be it but it has to stay IMO.

  • It's here to stay, so get over it!
  • Has to stay and with the game being driven so strongly by ratings and its appeal as a 'TV product' Origin will not go away... nor should it. However... the scheduling does need to be addressed to maintain fairness and ensure all clubs can field their best available (non-injured) squad for each club game.
