Squad upgrades

We all have our thoughts on the squad and where and how it could improve.

My worry is that we aren't active in the player market you look at teams like the Dogs and Sharks who need to upgrade and they have.

We seem to be backing the squad we have to get it it done does anyone worry that we are going to be standing still as the teams below us start passing us by

  • You beat me to this blog. I like that we have blooded a few young players this year and I am particularly impressed with what I saw of Pensini the other night. Our forward stocks are good. I like Makatoa and Grieg. We desperately need outside backs. Who do we chase with many of the outside backs being snapped up by other clubs. Any super league players worth pursuing?

  • As we are a development club I guess we will be developing what we need and only retaining what we have.

Unless someone falls into our lap don't expect anything exciting.

  • Our top 17 is pretty much already cemented for next year. So we won't get massive star. Only if we shop w Blake around maybe. We got JA to lead us anyway. He will be captain next year

    • Lol jokes. Actually BA will have DBrown in the centre with Waqa, drop Opi and put JA as the dominant half with MM relegated to submissive half.

      • Shaun lane to play 80min at prop. Rcg and paulo to be shopped

      • Does the submissive half go down on one knee or two knees and is the dominant half always the receiver? or can anyone get into domy half.

I can just image the tactical call out.....BOHEICA!................. Bend Over Here It Comes Again!

  • We lack speed.

A few of the fastest guys in the game have been up for grabs for next year but have landed at other clubs.

Was it a case of we didn't chase them or didn't offer enough to land them.

The fastest players we have are our halves but you need genuine speed in the backline.

Also I still don't get why we haven't chased Milford for the rest of this season.

He would be by far a better back up option than any of the other halves we currently have.

I still believe he would go well in a team that has talent unlike the Donkeys who are bog average.

    • They were too fast for us!

  • J.A. will be upgraded to captain/ assistant coach and goal kicker for 2022

    • And you forgot CEO

"People will still complain because they will have more away games against better teams compared to other teams or different turn around times.
I think a shorter season and stand alone rep period is the best option and over due though."
