Sports Radio Programmes

Being a sports fanatic, I listen to as many sports programmes as I can. I start at 5.30am on the "Big Sports Breakfast" on 2ky, then move to "TalkinSports" on 2sm at 3.00pm, then onto 2ue at 6.00pm. On all these shows there are regular callers who will ring all 3 programmes to express their opinions. There is Adrian, who hates Micheal Clarke, Brett Lee, Matt Giteau, St George and the Roosters. Then there is Bazz, Chris, Craig, Darren, Dennis and Sarge(40nil). Some of their calls are the funniest things you'll hear in a day. So I was wondering if anyone here has rung any of these programmes. I have been tempted a few times, particulary when you know what is being said is wrong.

  • I listen to some every now and then, mainly 2KY (generally later on in the day though as I'm asleep when it starts, haha), and 2UE, and it's good to listen to.
Never called in myself though, but you definitely get some characters calling up, that's for sure.
  • The Nark is the best caller
  • Yes, he was hysterical but he's been banned for a long time. Even the presenters can be funny as they push their opinions and agendas. Don't mention David Gallop to Graeme Hughes(2sm), he'll go balistic. John Gibbs while "not condoning" will defend every footballer who has ever done the wrong thing. Greg Alexander tips Parra to miss the 8 every year, while tipping Penrith to finish top 4 every year. Peter Peters is so biased towards Manly, his opinions on anything else are not worth listening to. Terry Kennedy is as big a tool on radio as he is on the Sunday Roast. Micheal Slater is my favourite and Jimmy Smith (ex Easts and Souths player) is quite good also.
