  • I guess it's most likely to be another Knights player if what RLW says is true about it being from the same investigation. I really thought they were going to get smashed in the first 2 rounds after what had already happened, but maybe this would be the straw that broke the camel's back. Hopefully their form is well and truly shot by the time we play them in round 15! :-)
  • There must be something up because the knights have been heavily backed to collect the spoon despite looking quite solid in the first two rounds.

I guess some people know, or think they know, that a player quite influential in the success of the team is going to get the chop out of this.
  • Also according to my understanding of the ASADA powers they are entitled to have the entire club de registered if their are more than 2 convictions.
  • Its a shame to the whole game, it brings the game down.
  • It could ruin the club. Speculation is that in the washup they will merge with the cowboys of all teams. They will be called the Drugstore Cowboys.
  • I don't know if that is true or not but I highly doubt that that would happen....Why should a club be deregistered because some of their boofhead players decide to take some drugs?

I could understand if the club was forcing the players to take drugs, such as performance-enhancing drugs but I seriously don't think ASADA has this power in this case, or if they do, that they would use it.
    • I dont think its applicable to team/domestic sports . I think you would find it more applicable to Olympic teams etc.
  • Brings all of society down mate!
  • Sharkies that was what my immediate response was as well, it doesn't seem fair if the use wasn't connected to the club for mine. But I am a solicitor and I was discussing this with a colleague who does sports law and he is adamant that it is within the powers of ASADA, if there are more than 2 convictions for drug use at a single club, to have it deregistered.
  • Well I can't understand that,Michael...The club is already punished with the loss of the player and the negative publicity that goes along with it.
Maybe it is technically in their power but surely they wouldn't use it if it were a case like this....not if they want to walk the streets of Newcastle anyway.
