Souths show they are still the benchmark

What an absolute dominant performance from Souths for the first game of the season.

They look like they are in another class again this year.

Their Forwards totally dominated the Bronco's and Adam Reynolds pretty much played the perfect game at half.

I thoroughly enjoyed the opening game of the season and I hope other teams will lift themselves to play at that high standard early in the year.

I really hope Parra can get that precision with their attack and get rid of the silly errors that have plagued us over the past 20 years.

  • The Broncos have absolutely no chance with half wit Hodges as captain. Geez what was Benny thinking there.
  • I just cant see how Bris were regarded as a top 6 side this year. Most seriously think Wayne Bennett will be the difference for them but he is way past it. Should have retired when he won the Premiership with the Dragons.

    • The tab had brisbane as favourites to win the premiership leading up to the start of the season. I was stunned when I saw that.
  • Yeh, captaincy was the least of their problems there. Brisbane held them in the first half but the second half, the flood gates opened.

  • You reckon?
I though the Broncos were shite last night. Too many errors.
  • I thought the broncos would go better. They have a great team on paper and playing at home where they use to never lose. I was wrong. Milford needs more time.
  • The Bunnies looked great, seems the orf season & the loss of Big Sam hasn't dulled their co-ordination. Good to see Joel Reddy enjoying some success at last. They were lucky to have re-signed Reynolds, his market value must now be sky high & his goal kicking, wow!

We meet the Bunnies in 3 weeks time so it should be a good guide as to how competitive we really r also by that stage we would have played the Silvertails, the Dogs & the Warriors. Something to look forward to.

    • I don't know Michael, tonights game will give us some indication if we have improved or not from last year. Souffs appear to be the benchmark team, strong and well balanced. Hope BA has fixed up our defence on the edges as Souffs exploit any weakness there as they did in the 9s. Hopefully by then we can have our biggest pack in (Pauli) to hopefully match them in the forwards.

    • If Reynolds have of held off contract negotiations, I reckon he could have got $200-300k more then he re-signed for.

  • Agree... my dog could have coached those squads to a GF win.

Parra fan on The Hill replied to Roy tannous's discussion Eels offering Jordan samrani
"I really like Samrani but if JR decides to give him up for MB I think that is a massive mistake.
IMO Samrani should be 1st drop for either centre/ wing if one of our starters is out. Brian Kelly is bog average and not going to get better.
