SOO 2017

This is my opinion of the series and how it went wrong.

Starting with the team, once again that big long haired front rower went missing again this SOO series NOT once did I see him run the ball HARD this year, he continues to waddle up to the line and get smashed, he should not of been in the team so start with, it's like he's scared to run it!! Where was Paul Vaughn? The most inform prop in the NRL who runs hard with footwork.

Jack Bird, Why Laurie didn't use him earlier in the games in game 1 and 2 has me shaking my head, leaves him on the bench for the last 10mins when the game is gone, why he didn't get more game time this series is ridiculous.

Klemmer last night was the only one who went forward, he was our best forward all series, this goes to show what you can do when you roll the sleeves up and "have a go" Andrew Fifita went missing game 3 after all that rubbish Josh said to him he was right, Fifita did nothing last night. Brilliant game 1 but nothing after that.

Josh Jackson, Laurie bring him back on with 4mins to go, he's one of THE best defenders in the NRL he comes back on with a jersey that didn't even look dirty, why Laurie left him on the bench has me shaking my head again.

IMO NSW have the better team by far, hands down NSW should of won this series but Laurie just can't coach for shit, what has he done for NSW as coach, He's won one series when Cronk broke his arm. The team is there for us to win we just need a COACH.

It's embarrassing to see a bloke like Tim Glasby lift the shield, that xunt wouldn't even make NSW Country... and now he's a origin winner.

Everything we did this series was slow, our backline moves were wayyyyyy to deep, way to slow, we have no structure, we get to QLD red zone and they just soak it up, where as when they do a backline the winger scores every time.

Laurie should hang his head in shame.

Way to early yet for this but IMO this is what the team should look like going into 2018

1 Teddy, 2 Turbo, 3 Dugan, 4 Hayne, 5 Roberts, 6 Maloney, 7 Pearce, 8 Vaughn, 9 Peats, 10 Fifita, 11 Cordner (c), 12 Frizell, 13 Jackson,     14 Bird, 15 J turbo, 16 Klemmer, 17 Graham

Like I said, the team is there for a series win, just need someone who know's how to coach.

I think certain players eg Hayne,Dugan, woods are just use to losing now and aren't and haven't won in club level in a long time! New blood and some winners who play for the team
  • Guys keep parra players out of your teams. We don't want them getting injured. Parras premiership is more important.
  • It's not looking too promising for next year either .
  • As I read this post all fingers point to the coach. Team selection, bench rotation, game plan, build up, all falls back on the coach. He was chosen after some city vs country game. Unbelievable, we need a good coach that's will come with a game plan to shut the maroons down. My choice... Robinson from the Roosters or Flanno from the Sharks.

Also one thing that hasn't been mentioned. Do you find the Sydney journos so disrespectful to the QLD sides. The rubbish they write about certain players is beyond words. It happens time & time again, and as soon as we loose, those same journos turn on our players. They make me sick!!!
  • It's not looking promising for the foreseeable future, we need a massive attitude change new Coach who can instill energy and passion, some halves who can create Jack Bird to 6 (at least in the starting side). NSW looked lethargic and kept trying the same shit expecting a different result, I'm sick of waiting for next year.

I feel for Pearce but he is broken at that level and we can't afford as a state to give him anymore chances. It's not fair on our state and frankly it's not fair on him. He just isn't up to it. Arguments that we lacked punch in the forwards and didn't give our halves a chance are often sound but look at game 1, we dominated and personally I don't think Pearce was all that good. Time to give someone else a go and by this time next year cleary will be over his second year syndrome and have 50+ games under his belt. He can kick goals too and pressure doesn't seem to faze him.

Turbo was a huge positive out of this series for the blues. He proved he was more than capable at that level. No doubt he will be around for NSW for many years.
  • Fatfeeta wanted to belly flop on everyone like he was 6 years old at the pool while woods tried to milk penalties by wrapping his arm around the tackler. It was that type of attitude that cost you guys the game. Even Pearce or Maloney throwing Maguire or Gillettes shoe into the crowd. I can't remember who's as I was basking in the qld glory and getting drunk by that stage. Fix the grub acts and nsw may start to win a few! Lol

    • Nathan Cleary and Guth selected for City means they are both on radar. I think NC still a bit young at 19 though. Next year his game might go to a different level with experience. Tom Turbo would have been selected if not for injury. Guth and Tom T may be fighting for same spot next year.
