Some positives to think about

I thought Opacic was impressive to the expectation of being a very solid centre and also shows some class in positioning himself. his effort to get back off the Croft kick was outstanding, a match saving move.

Pappall was everything thats been said, I don't mind him starting on the edge, drop lane altogether. Niukore on the bench then makes up for Lane dropping.

Hipgrave was not out of place and for the short time he was on, you couln't help notice him positively.

Dyllan Brown had the weight of Snakes hatred on his back, but whilst he made mistakes, he did some good things and didn't hide after he made them.....probably one of his more complete games, his kicking was also a big improvement.

I thought Moses was pretty foolproof in that he played a general type game and his kick at the end to close the game out was perfect. Not to mention his sideline conversion to put us in front. Ferguson was everything I hoped for this time around and Sivo did some solid things. Blake's defence was tenacious.

The only other person roundly criticised was the coach and I don't know what to say, as not much has changed. That said all the knives that are out for him, do not relate to a replacement..... Carlo and Mick and a few others think Flanno is going to replace him....who ever replaces him, trust me, it will not be Flannagan. He is not the type of coach that our board will ever be comfortable with because he will just cause division.

Finally there was a lot of pre ejaculation in the first half, justifiably so, but you would think some of the guys who went the early call could have hung in a bit longer..... What does "go the bush coach' actually mean?

The fact is this game was the best result for the team going forward....much better than a 58 nil drubbing of the Broncs and thinking our shit doesn't stink.

As the blog title suggests, I was just trying to focus on postives, the negatives were all there to see, but who wants to talk about negatives?

Good test next Thursday and it will not be what everyone thinks it will be.

  • Some fair points pops, i'll also add.

Fergos back and he looks happy, unlike last year he looked depressed.

    Junior ran at the line

    Reed ran the ball

    Agree Opacic was solid

    • Nice thoughts Snake.... Ithink you should hold off on Dyllan.....I saw some good signs tonight.....a long way from where he needs to be....but positive.

  • Only positive is, we are another game closer to giving Arthur the rissole.

    • Its a two side coin Berty, you on one side and Brissyeel on the other. I'm sure you will be there one way or the other LOL

      • We both want the same thing.... a premiership.

We just see a very different paths to accomplish that.

Plus I'm not a blood relative like BrissyBA.

        • LOL....if Parra defend as well as Brissy, we will win this comp!

  • Papa outstanding - massive positive. Oregon also good - we lost little when the change happened for JP and RCG.

Opa agree - not outstanding but very solid, did his job. Sivo ran like the Sivo of old, not last years Sivo. The Wonga Wacker ran hard also each carry. Fergo good too.

Definitely some positives, just have to rectify that start and the ball control and the ever-present right side defensive cluster f*cks - against top sides we won't stand a hope in hell of coming back if we give up a start like that. Simple and direct power game is our go - like the Rabbits in the peak Burgii era...

    • Yes Al Hunt mentioned Oregon as well and I omitted him....poor bastard he is underated.....Oregon that is, not Al..lol

Look we can't get excited but that probably, the early pain notwithstanding was the best thing that could happen and we walk away with two points.

It was the loss we were going to have, without losing.

"I put money on us for the spoon after the first few rounds. But I don't think we'll get it now. Titans wil probably get it. We have Moses returning and a few winnable games, at least 2 more wins. "
