1. Our attack is better when Hands plays 9. His distribution is quicker and he is more invested in just getting the ball to the halves, rather than thinking about creating plays himself. Hodgson's style doesn't work anymore because he's past it. Hands needs to start and play longer minutes. Hodgson's first contact in defence ain't effective either.
2. Dunster has got to go. The only thing he does well is the tough one out carry. Otherwise, he doesn't have the pace to threaten. Russell or Waqa need to play on the right wing.
3. Two players need a rocket about being soft with their yardage carries. Jnr Paulo and Mika Sivo. Both are not giving enough effort.
5. Dylan Brown should have tried to control the game more tonight. JA started out well, but dropped off dramatically, particularly in the second half. Brown should have played the halfback role tonight but didn't. Brown also seems to need Lane with to be effective. He needs to mature and play better, even when his pet Giraffe ain't there.
6. Andrew Davey's should not be playing big minutes. It seems he has been deployed as a defensive stalwart, but he ain't that at the moment.
7. BA criticised the Ref's tonight. Pretty sure that is the first time ever.
Too tired to come up with more...

Our halves didn't have much opportunity to score so I don't want to be too harsh on Dylan and JA.
The problem is bigger than looking for scapegoating players for losses .The issue is addressing the management of individual personal issues around player disciplines and playing a winning teamwork game in attack and defence.. It's easy to blame an individual it's much more difficult to do the latter
I doubt that teams like Storm, Roosters Panthers have a player blame culture. Coaches should take responsibility. Encouragement of competition among your whole team squad is the engine room where selections are made. You look for the best fit you can get.
It isn't about scapegoating players Tad, and Parra have been very good at not scapegoating players, refs, coaches or anything. They seem to be oblivious to anything outside the inner sanctum and it is an issue across the whole squad. The statistical anomaly blog and making the grand final last year shows we have team capable of much better and they prove it in large patches of most games. Then they mentally crumble for 10-20mins a game and have to play catch up. The issue is players mental ability to play 80 mins. It has been commented before we need top line sports psychologist to work with team.
We had plenty of line breaks tonight, but can't finish them off, yet we still scored plenty of points. Once again a few tries conceeded at end of first half and start of 2nd half when we drop off were the difference. Even the best sides have quiet periods, poor defencive reads and errors every game but they have another player helping the clean up in defence or stepping up in attack to ensure the scoreboard doesn't get away from them.. We should have gone to half time 6 points up, but found ourselves down by 12 just after half time.
Yes fatigue plays issue at end of half, and as many have pointed out JH is problem late in the half but at start of 2nd half, some of the decisions and efforts can't be blamed in fatigue.
On positive note Penisini looks like he has developed nicely and gained some pace. Wonder if we have new sprint coach.
FM I think it was Carlo that said that we have been discussing the same issues for years now with out the main issues being addressed to get us to a different level consistently. We have had some good games and some very good patches of play which have have kept us a live and we give the team a pass mark until the same issues crop up again and highlight our deficiencies.
Someone to address mental discipline for full 80 minutes.HOE and DAZ with the Sybil analogy has been with us for years. The value of a consistent Psychological input has been discussed for years. I know I probably mention Panthers and Rabbits too often as a model of success but both sides have addressed these critical areas extremely well. Then we have creative attacking plays in the attacking red zone.Nothing to see here for years. Then the defence.Same thing again.

4 Browns played 100 games including some internationals. If he's not matured by now , will he ever ? I'm so torn with this fuckung kid . Some kids are very naturally gifted but that's as far as they ever go. I don't think he possesses the traits to ever be much more than rocks and diamonds. You can't coach desire to win and competitiveness, you'll only see desire when he's either off contract or he's being spoken about negatively giving him something to prove . Simply winning doesn't generate enough hunger. I just don't think he's wired like that if you could transplant Guthersons ego and drive to win into Dylan's body with his capabilities then you'd have a real player on your hands . A long contract was literally the worst thing we could've done for both him and the club.
6 and 7 , agree
The nrl is almost impossible to watch these days and thats for all games. They have self created a bunch of issues.
I agree with you mate,
And would like to add that Paulo for his size should worry about being the leader of the pack he seems to want look at soft options eg to much ball playing.
Our outside backs apart from penisini are average no speed and don't make any metres
Dylan Brown needs to be the main man if Moses not there not jake Arthur he shouldn't be in the team period
Gutha tries his heart out but should look at himself instead of blaming others he was the reason that Canberra scored 2 tries off grubbers, and in 2 games through stupid intercepts that cost us the game.
After 10 years at the club we still cannot defend every team that wins the comp have the best defensive record, obviously Brad doesn't get it, if you can't coach it then surround yourself with best defence coaches.
Our retention was rubbish apparently we signed Hodgson before he did his acl last year that tells me we were not serious of resigning mahoney , why not younger and a better player and was ours. Papali was also a mistake he wanted to stay he wanted to resign half way through the year for less than we offered but in end we waited to long and he went for the cash to tigers. Kaufusi could of stayed even though im happy with how Grieg is going.
Our iine speed is non existent, should of kept ray stone and look for this type of player eg Gilbert at dolphins.
Waqa or Russell are both average but are better wingers than dunster hes to slow, when your halves are your fastest backs you have problems
Arthur's time up at Parramatta, we over achieved last year can't believe they gave him a contract extension after couple rounds, time to replace him with Flanagan or Hadler or Madge
