I think that we are very harsh in some of the judgements being made. I don't understand the negativity that comes through every week in the ingame running. How do people type that shit and say they are watching the game. Unless of course they have 20 negatives prepared by Wiz about Dyllan Brown just waiting to be posted given a scenario.
Firstly we are shockingly exposed in depth, not just a case of numbers but specifically quality.
With the cattle we have there is not much more we can do.
I was vehmently opposed to Asi being picked to play again after the left edge debackle from last week. That being said, I have to give Barrett some due: The improvement on the left edge was striking in comparison to last week (despite still being not good enough). Did anyone notice why there was a difference? Or was just the outstanding display from Chriton (dogs) that was the main difference, because that singular situation cost us that game.i.e "the left edge".
Last night, I could not pin down any one specific - other than not being quite good enough against arguably the best roster in the competition.
They currently are playing with little self belief and no luck. Intangible combinations in those two but circumstances can change things....we really missed Sivo of all people, whilst he can make as many mistakes as the good things he does. He does given a scoring momentum that lifts the side. You can almost bank two tries from last night that should have been taken by a journeyman winger, unfortunately Russell does not even qualify as that. Also not sure why Matt Arthur is not playing at the very least the same role that Lussick does. Give Barrett another one here, he realised straight away the difference with Lussick coming on and getting him off again as quick as he could.MA could be perfectly blooded and provide a game breaker if given such a role. The only thing that Lussick is not going to achieve in any environment, is to be a game breaker.
I thought Matto had a good game coming back and like a lot on here opinions seem to be influenced by the blind following the leader. EA said our halves were terrible and EA does a good job on here, but understanding how easily it is for opposition side's to single out Brown and Moses as the only real dangers that Parra possess means what you judge is not actually fair.
Finally, if you are not a moron and think that Wiz is not running an agenda against Dylan Brown with more than 50% of his comments focused on his negatives, then you are one of the blind. Brown is not given much room to move and the try he scored just after half time was very elite! No other Parra player could have scored it and the look on Brown's face was what I would call is blatant contempt of his critics. It should be noted the respect he was given by the opposition during and after the game.
Moses does not seem right to me and I am not sure what his problem is, maybe match fitness? or a let down of not being the messiah, like he was made out to be when injured. The Messiah is appropriate in terms of our alternatives, but unlike the Messiah he is not a miracle worker.
I feel we go through a motion where we get Tulagi and Asi to do hit ups, because their positions demand that, but the reality is they are simply not built for it. ....... make alternatives!
Tulagi has impressed me on the wing, whilst his defence is still no better he is showing he has all the skills of a footballer waiting to be released. I have been a critic of his selection, specifically as a fullback and I did say that if he has to play first grade, winger is the place for him to start. I am not sure who changed Moses tackle technique after he came over from Wests, but that person should be refound and put in charge of tackle technique, because the whole team have become grabbers. It should be a fundamental. Moses could do with a refesher as well!
It should be noted about Robinson's comments after the game in saying they "lost" their tackle during the game, but found it again after 15 minutes or so. Unfortunately Parra has lost its tackle for a lot longer than that and it still has not been "found" !!!!

We played well enough to win that game and had multiple chances to extend the lead but just couldn't break the roosters goal line defence. On the other hand roosters cracked us first time they got down our end and that was that
Maybe I'm easily pleased but I thought that was up there with one of the best games of the year. The roosters intensity last night was incredible. They were coming off the bye and were well and truly up for last night. The fact that we were in that game and led with 15 to go was an amazing effort- particularly given the late reshuffle with Asi playing out of position.
"If" we play like that every week we will win much more than we lose.
Its easy to forget the Roosters put 60 on saints 6 weeks ago and 40 on Bris the week after. They played with the same intensity last night as they did in those games-maybe more so.
Youre spot on about depth Poppa-we don't have it but our reserves have really turned things around over the last 8 weeks so maybe/hopefully there's a few putting their hand up
We played ok last night, the 1%s killed us. Our forwards were put on their backs consistently which we failed to do to them, thus slowing our play the ball speed. Our kick chase was poor , we never chase hard enough or in sufficient numbers. We constantly waited in defence for them to come to us, our first contact was good tho. The biggest killer was our inability to ice our opportunities inside the chooks 20. Basically our basics and inability to finish off attacking raids was poor, very similar to the dogs game
Perfectly summised
enough to make me hope we would get a win for a few mins - but not polished or fast enough to make it a reality
We are a team that is happy to do the exciting things in attack but are not prepared to do the basic things well, things like line speed, kick chase, aggressive defense, and just as importantly stay calm under pressure.
BA has failed these guys in a lot of ways and unfortunately our leadership group know no better. This is why the players should have no say on who the new coach should be, they need to be taken out of their comfort zone and tested at every level about every aspect of the game.
Edit. By tested I mean pushed.
You should be the 1EE go to Physcologist Pops. Your able to diagnose our 1EE breathren with ease. We have the easy influenced, we have the blind, we have the moron's and those that have no idea on what they are seeing during a game. That there all sounds like your as frustrated as most around here. We need a weekly blog Pops. We could call its Pops Corner for the physocologically damaged Eels fans. I put my hand up and say im one of them.
Searching for answers with this god awful team. Its not that all our players are awful all the time, but it does appear they play tag. Your it, your turn to be awful. To me we have weapons in the team that we launch but our final guidance system to land the blow has glitches. Time to really fix these glitches with a set of backs and Hooker that show skill/speed and footy nouse more times then not. We dont have that. A mix of recruitment, position changes and devloped promotion form below may be key to any future success for this team that makes me feel like they are awful.
I know you love your stats. hahahahaha Not. but hey we had 55% possession with only 70% completion. The basic art of holding and catching a ball is beyond us at times. Our play the ball speed was over half a second longer then the roosters each and every tackle. 35 missed tackles, and 14 errors dosnt help our cause.
Watching last night , we still looked like a BA team. Effort at times, capable at times, falling short more times then not.
Thanks Bluey, you can be the "shrink" for next weeks game, I am having a bye!
All your comments a fair! LOL
hahaha mate im too damaged at the moment. Happy to chip in though. At the moment my rose coloured glasses are blood red, I might not be seeing things clearly enough. hahahahaha The Eels do that to me.
Im glad to see your now calling it Pops Corner. The residual royalties contract is in the mail 👍
