Solving the 6/7/9/14 plus Wenty puzzle

Based on what has been done over the past 4 games IMO here is where I would be playing KK, Morts, MK, Robo and Humble.

Best 9; MK. Last night showed what happens with poor dummy half passing. We lost the ball twice. Not sure what DAs beef with MK is but I'd start him and let him do the tough stuff early. Ok he is not flashy but he is tough and the best passer out of dummy half

Best 7: KK. V good v Manly and the Storm, that will do me.

Best 14: Humble. Can play all the positions plus full back. Has speed, passing game and kicking game.

That leaves Morts and Robo fighting out for the 6 spot. Clearly Robo is not a 6. Morts looks small. He gets monstered when he runs but he is tough and can find a hole.

So for mine Morts at 6 and Robo off to shake hands with B Kenny

PS: Can someone please teach Inu not to run out on the second tackle ! My TV can take another beer bottle to the screen

  • lol you actually threw a beer bottle at the screen?
    • Need to invent a wrist band like a Wii controller to prevent Inu damage
  • i actually thought inu played a very good game yesterday i must say i was a bit worried seeing him playing instead of guru
  • mortimer at 7, k keating at 6, m keating at 9 and humble to the bench, I think they are all adequate to do the job, if hayne plays like last night at our main playmaker then the others will be ok. Hayne is our halfback just in a fullback jersey. As you saw last night he did a majority of the plays with mortimer and keating as extra kickers and to spread the ball. I think the passing from robson was abit sloppy from the dummy half that is why i choose matt keating.

Quick play the balls will allow more running from dummy half from keating. Some of the play the balls were way too slow like fitler said mateo took 10 seconds to play it and how are we suppose to get a roll on and the hooker have good runs with those play the balls. even the best hookers cant go forward and make the team move with slow play the balls, watching the dogs game earlier when they had quick play the balls ennis had time to run and work the defence, when they got tired and slowed he wasnt doing very great.

would still like to see us pressure the kickers abit more, just watching both games on tv i noticed the difference in our defence on kickers to the dogs and tigers, we were slow and didnt pressure much whereas the dogs got 2 charge downs and made benji get nervous, same with tigers pressuring kimmorley.
    • given how important Hayne is to us his head butt was a childish joke. we cant afford him suspended due to stupid acts he needs to be bigger than that
    • couldnt agree more with the kick pressuring its inexsistent, we need to pressure teams and force a few chargedows. and our slow play the balls need to speed up a lot.
    • Finally someone on this sight is talking sense. Yeh
    • Leave it means you would send MK to Wenty ?
  • i dont agree we might have beaten the storm but i think the benchmark this year is the dragons and we have lost to them both times and havent looked like beating them. like c smith said the storm having nothing to play for so they are not the team to compare our form against, the dragons are at the top of the table so they are the benchmark at the moment.

I think m keating will get some form back when our forwards start playing better and getting more of a roll on. He was playing fairly well the last few seasons, players just have bad periods we have seen it with all players, getting frustrated and that. Plus the storm and sea eagles game are the only ones that our forwards have been going forward and providing room. when we played against the dragons our forwards got dominated.
  • I actually think Kris Keating could be doing everything he does really well, that is attack the line, pick times to run, kick to the corner etc, from Hooker.

I would be playing Kris Keating at 9 Mortimer or Humble at 6 and Robson 7 if I was Anderson. We still aren't getting enough zip out of dummy half and I reckon Kris Keating could do a lot for us in that regard.
