Do we put a forward there? The obvious one is Matterson who already plays on the right, i guess with Gower starting on the right next to him in the second row.

Had N. Brown been back he could have played lock and Niukore fill in on the right with Matterson in the 6. But yeah, moot point.
Or, do we actually throw a half in there? The problem being with no reserve grade makes it somewhat of a guessing game for Arthur. Salmon, Field or even W. smith?
Some might even suggest something drastic like moving Ferguson to fullback and putting gutherson at five/eighth, then bringing in Dunster or another winger. But the obvious answer is no.

I think Field will come in he's been in the squad alot.
I actually dont mind gutho to 6 with will smith or field/Rankin at 1 it will be a tough decision.
Id definitely keep Matto on the edge takka on the bench will be important
Do not make 3 positional changes to replace 1 injured player. That would be suicide.
You do not move Gutho from fullback.

We played okay without him last night. The rest of the spine really stepped up.We have quite a few options actually, will be interesting to see but I bet BA goes with Taka or Salmon.

It will be good for DBrown to see what he can do as the main half. Not sure where BA goes from here but no doubt he had planned for this scenario.

Dylan is no where near ready to run the team. He doesn't have the confidence yet and is still finding his first grade feet. He is a massive talent and we won't jeopardise his confidence too early. He needs the time such a young bloke and we shouldn't ask for the impossible from one so young and so early in his career. There was evidence in yesterday's game he was allowed to step up but not take control, when Gutho missed the first field goal and then put it to the other kickers who was going to take the next one, Dylan told him No way not me. That's no bad put on him at all, he knows his strengths and experience levels and is playing free. Gutho took control and the forwards really stood up and made a statement - follow us up the middle and we'll get you home.
Next weeks game will be a lot more up the middle, and play to our forward strength. Gutho will be in control and will move between fullback and half back roles depending on the position we are in. Wouldn't surprise me to see Jai field or Jordan Rankin , who ever has the better kicking game "like poppa suggests" in and play a minor role while Gutho, Brown, Matto, Mahoney all take a bit more ball playing roles. Just my opinion though.

this will be the making of the man - there is no lack of confidence in this young fella. Each and every test that he has been put to, he has come up trumps.
In recent weeks he has steppped up and taken control at various times so there is no doubt he is up to it,
No it's not, and at this stage he hasn't got the experience or confidence to run the team.
Jai fills the #7 role, feed the forwards and have a decent kicking game especially the long kicks. Let Dylan run the left side with a little more ball and Gutho to set up down the right side.
Do not put pressure on Dylan Brown, it may turn him to a conservative type player which he is not. He plays what he see,s. By all means give him more ball.
