So who is Bill Moss ?So what do we actually know about this guy ?Well we know that he is rich , actually very rich . For some here that's enough to give him the keys to our club . For the more impressionable members " hey the guys loaded he just MUST be successful and know how to make us successful "Then you have the obvious vested interests on here pushing the privatisation wheelbarrow because this passionate rich bloke ( who they have no links to of course ) just is dying to throw his money at us because he loves the club and nothing more )So who is this knight in shining armour and what do we know about him ?Well we know ,He's been accused of having his company hire a standover man with family links to a Hezbollah terrorist organisation to collect a debt .http://www.smh.com.au/nsw/bill-moss-and-son-stephen-hire-adam-kazal-to-collect-debt-20141024-11azil.htmlAdam Kazal ( real name Hussein Hussein ) who was allegedly hired by the multi millionaire to collect $60Khttp://www.smh.com.au/nsw/bad-company-20130310-2fuum.htmlWe know a company he owns was embroiled in one of our questionable Third Party Agreements , breaking the rules about companies contracted to the club can not supply TPA's . You'd have to ask , does Bill even know the rules of the NRL salary cap? Or did he also try to slip a dodgy TPA through alongside the blokes he now seems to think are unfit to run our club ?http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/nrl-investigating-parramatta-eels-over-anthony-watmough-third-party-deal-20160202-gmjv4x.htmlWhat you may not know is that he was feature in a book written by Kate Mclymont who as described by many here as " the " reporter when it comes to these shady matters , this book was written about none other than Eddie Obeid , in fact Eddie is Bills old next door neighbour .http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2002/11/20/1037697740351.htmlIn her book she accused Bill of being involved with Eddies attempt to bribe The Labor Gov over a poker machine licence for a developer . ( note Bill won his legal fees back in a mutual settlement in court ) I'm thinking this is the OASIS Development that Canterbury were embroiled in ? The last paragraph in this story mentions it .http://www.abc.net.au/worldtoday/stories/s794186.htmAnd the book storyhttp://www.theaustralian.com.au/business/media/bill-moss-in-49k-defamation-win-against-fairfaxs-kate-mcclymont/news-story/884508d833a021e34695c56152b6e991We also know that Bill was a key player in attempting to bring the Bulldogs down in 2002 for salary cap rorting using information he'd leaked to an NRL official , however it was originally ignored . I'll let you decide whether that may have been sour grapes for being mentioned in the Oasis scandal .http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2002/11/18/1037599363671.htmlFar out , this bloke could be the most honest man to walk ( Phill Mann ) the earth but geez it seems to follow him around doesn't it . Very interesting that he leaked info to bring down the Dogs when they were making illegal player payments . Seems the blokes allegedly got some form in using information to get what he wants .

  • Have been living under a rock WIz?

  • You still live under a rock, lol

  • I can answer that question Wiz.

Bill Moss - like Malcolm Turnbull - is a retired multi millionaire Merchant Banker.

Now - doesn't that make you feel good?

    • Well that's different, discovery complete! Give the guy the keys now.

  • I too was a bit surprised way back when every fan was endorsing him as the next Chairman or the clubs messiah. I was surprised that, like me, I would say majority of people had never heard of him until he was put forward by the board to be an independent director. I had no issue back then with the possibility of that appointment but am a little wary now.

    • People go all weak at the knees over how many zeros someone has on their bank statement . We've tried the rich fan thing with Spagnolo .
  • Well, you've missed out the cautionary tale of privatisation re: Bill and the Sydney Kings.

If you really are interested in learning more about Bill Moss, he has written a memoir.

I was pretty stunned to wake up to the story this morning about him leading a privatisation effort, because he denied it flatly personally to me earlier this week. That said, for all the quotes given about him still being in favour of privatisation, there wasn't any direct quotes from him as to that regard and given I was actually misquoted this week, I'm not going to presume I was lied to.

    • Phil - do I detect a certain level of skepticism directed toward the media?

Most unusual from you - most unusual indeed. lol
