So Parra Fans What Will It Take?

Obviously this season has ended disappointingly again for the Eels and I now find myself watching other sides compete for the premiership we may never experience again. Which pisses me off to no end. 28 years and counting.Although this year was a major improvement on the previous years efforts, I'm still not convinced, as opposed to many others on here, that the future looks that great for our club. We are a middle of the road side, nothing more.Seward, 2 Premierships in next 5 years? Mmmmm. Hahahahaha. ROFLMAO.And how exactly is this going to be achieved, considering the very poor recruitment currently being undertaken by our club? If you placed all the other sides gains and losses against ours, we would have to have recruited the worst talent so far.Christ, are we going to continue with the signing of more 'Depth' players? We need some solid first grade quality forwards not depth wingers or centres.Watmough ain't the answer. Over priced over the hill player.I know some of you guys on here bang on about the haters and are sick of all the pessimism from myself and a few others, but I tell you what, I'm so sick to death of all the freaking optimists who never seem to get down on anything regarding the Eels. The fact is the recruitment so far is concerning. The recruitment is puzzling considering our weaknesses.Every year it's the exact same shit. No matter who the coach is, no matter how pea hearted our players seem to be or no matter how poorly run our club is there are always those Unicorns who love to 'STICK SOLID' behind the cause. It doesn't make you Anti-Parra to express disappointment. So I pose this question to all the Eels fans. What will it take? How much can you cop before we all stand up and say enough is enough? Is it 2020? Is it 2030? If no premiership is forth coming before Jarryd retires what do we do then?I just want to know.

  • Tank if we don't at least make the 8 next year then i think u will find even the unicorns will start hammering the side. 2015 will be a very important year for the eels and for all eels fans.

  • Better recruitment people as the ones doing it now do not seem to have a clue and are wasting salary cap cash on  5th grade players instead of saving it for decent players or up grading better juniors such as the likes of Kelpi.

    • If you had any idea most of the signings would be 2nd tier replacing the cattle going from wenty. Champion and watmough would be the only two in the salary cap.
    • We will have juniors stepping up into them holes. Like paulo, pauli pauli and then its the best out of the backs to get a spot as well. I believe we are one good prop signing off having a top forward back. Its just the backs and I would take henry any day over kelly as a back up.
    • The dogs bought Jacob Loko, Reni Maitua and POH, you have no right to say that.

  • Even 2nd tier counts as it affects you if you have injuries. These players mentioned are crap and the money would be better spent on up gradig a junior that looks the goods and worth keeping than wasted on no accounts that we are rumoured to be interested in.

    • If they don't play first grade it doesn't effect the cap. If the juniors are better and good enough to play first grade they will. These signings bring experience and some are very talented players but have faced massive injury problems. They are worth a gamble for sure as they won't take nothing out of the cap if they are no good.
  • Brad mate out of the top 25 we are losing Fui, Smith, Tonga, Kelepi and Loko.
So their replacements will be Watmough and Champion. Plus upgrading Moeroa and a couple of others from u20s..
Our 1st grade squad needs fortifying not Wenty. The rate we are going we will be running out two Wentys next year.
  • Frank, I doubt you ever been a Parra fan except when we won 4 premierships.

Being a loyal fan is about riding the roller coaster.

Get a cup of concrete and drink it, don't look at it

    • Ecniv stick your analysis of my support where the sun don't shine bud.
You don't know shit about who I am or what I'm about.
All because you think you are a REAL fan and enjoy living with your head in your butt doesn't mean I need to join you.
28 years Enciv = 3rd longest current drought.
Its fans like you who will ensure we reach 50 years. Enjoy the roller coaster.
You keep excepting mediocrity because no doubt that's what and who you are.

I reckon if Semi, Haynes or Sivo had persisted in the NRL we might be talking about them breaking the NRL try scoring record. I think Semi and Hayne were close to 1 try per game average over 100 games? Thoughts?
