Ok, so a few of you have raised the issue that you feel there are some posters who are spoiling your 1Eyed experience.
Personally, I haven't had an issue. I simply gloss over what I consider to be rubbish contributions.
It's the same as if you use any social media network - half of what goes through your stream is rubbish and today's "reading skills" are as much about having the intelligence and wisdom to apply your own bullshit filters and take the good from whatever source you're reading.
After all, there is no corner of the Internet that is immune from mis-information, trolling, etc
Anyway, I do realise that from a professional perspective, i've learnt to both develop an extremely thick skin as well as being able to filter information quickly, and because of that I have a preference to moderate very lightly, but that this might not reflect the preferences of the general members.
So I'm throwing it open to the community. What guidelines do you want to see put in place, which guidelines do you want to see us clamp down on more so.

Today iv'e notice alot of members being critical of the one eyed eel site including mods, so i just thought why not clear the air and tell people what you dont like or annoys you the most about the site. Without discussion no changes can be made.
One things that annoys me is having members that just want to stir eel fans like pretending to be a players from a rival teams and just post crap dont even bother reading there comments anymore just scroll by.
The home page is a good example of things going wrong when you see parra photo's and vids on the page but you also have a billy slater pic on the HOME page which is just a joke no other fan site would have rival players on the home page.
Its just common sense little changes would make a huge difference to this great site.
P.S i enjoy members posting rumours or inside info even tho they dont give much away or it does not pan out it makes for great discussion and should be encouraged. But if this annoys some members than dont read or reply.
Mabe we should have a Rumour/inside news blog catergory just on its own, so if you dont like rumours you wont visit and if you do well its great for those members.
Funny thing is joel caine has rumours every week on the game plan and who knows if they are all true or pan out but people enjoy talkin about them the next day i bet joel does not get hate mail about it.
just my take on things
I have 2 suggestions Phil. Both are 'borrowed' from another well known forum. Not sure how hard they would be to implement.
* Latest comments in Blogs, regardless of whether they are "Replies" to a previous comment or a new 'standalone' comment should appear as the "Latest" entry in that Blog. That is, on the current last page of the blog. I think this might make it easier to filter through the sometimes meaningless arguments and insult fests...
* Secondly, and this is the best one - the ability to "Hide" all of another contributer's content. That way, you can nominate a specific user and you don't have to read their nonsense if you so consider it...
Just throwing it out there....
Whilst recently, I've been on the receiving end of some flak from quite a number of members for reasons that are well-known, I don't think wholesale changes are necessary.
Having said that, I don't appreciate saying something, and having 100 people on my back, that choose to berate me for whatever reason they see fit, when it is unwarranted.
As of this point, I can't pinpoint any real areas that should be changed, but perhaps the main gist of most blogs should be to try and attempt to get the onus back on the initial post in the blogs, rather than it turning into WW3 - simply because someone has an agenda that differs from others, and thus choose to vehemently argue their point, with the use of swearing and name-calling.
I think it's fine the way it is now.
Maybe leave it as it is, but if personal attacks are made and the victim makes a complaint, then maybe the offender can get a one-and-only warning.. Repeat offenders then get a one month ban???
This robot must be able to interpret blogs and distinguish between common sense, emotion, bias, insult and process actions accordingly.
This robot must also attend home games and have a keg inbuilt with refrigeration system.
For away games this robot must hold a class HC licence to drive fans to the games.
If you manage to make this robot look like Jennifer Garner it can staty at mine and use my computer to administer all tasks.
