Snoop Dog & the AFL just killed the NRL

Jesh, that pre game entertainment with Snoop and was NFL show standard. Snoop Absolutely killed it. Wow, the best prediction game entertainment in Australian sports history.  Classy act

So.the Afl scores one of the world's most known entertainers and We get Teddy Swims as our main event. Teddy Who's

I haven't even heard of Teddy Swims.  Teddy farking Who.  You've got to be joking.  The NRL probably signed him for a free promotion type deal.

If the NRL want to be top of the tree, they've just blown it.

          • Hang on. Your blog clearly states you "haven't even heard of Teddy Swims". Now you say you know his music and like it.

Are you just trolling because you're bored?

            • Hold on. I haven't heard of his name, but I know of the songs I've heard on the radio.   What's hard to understand??

              • Question: How do you know it's his music if you've never heard of him?

It's like me saying I've never heard of Led Zeppelin but I like their music.

                • Cmon bro.  Do you know song's artist as it comes onto the radio.   Are you serious.

Plus, Teddy Swims first entry into the US and Australian charts was in 2023. So before then hardly anyone had heard of him.

Whilst ill admit,  he has a great voice, there's many artists who come and go within a few years these days.  The great artists are around for decades like, you're led zeppelin,  U2, Acdc, Robbie Williams,  Foo fighters.   They are the big fish.

    • How many people went to that game with the only intent of seeing Snoopy....Chiefy.

Gee I am glad your not doing the NRL negotiation, you would have a "Dinner at the Arthur's residence" as a lucky door prize.

I can just see the Foxtel/9 consortium say "sorry we can only give you a couple of Mill because Teddy Swims has stopped everyone  going to the game......but, but....... NRL broke all records this year gone....Origin outranked the AFL...... but shit how much better would it have been if Billy Bunter was doing the mid game entertainment......but but Billy's dead!....... so what he is still a big name and the red necks you get there aren't real smart you know!!

Sorry Mr Fox I am only 12 years old and I am not allowed to stay up late anyway.....especially if Billy's on.

      • Its about tv ratings old boy, not attendances.  What have you smoked this morning mate.

At the end of the day, tv ratings dictate everything.   Go and see what the a league has become without tv money.

  • No one remembers who the pre game entertainment was, as people watch for the game.  I would rather millions spent on bush footy or junior development then an international artist.

It gives non footy fans a reason to tune in but they aren't getting extra viewers for it.  Family and friends of people watching the game already might watch the pre game entertainment but no one is going to tune in for a 10min pre game entertainment if they aren't watching the game.

    • The thing is, I with many millions of viewers remembered to tune in to the arl because of the entertainment.   Ratings is key here

      • I don't think millions tuned in for the AFL music entertainment.  They may have got maximum an extra 10,000 people from who were watching the game anyway.  When I told some people who are big fans of Snoop he was playing they didn't care.  They either have tickets to his tour show or they can stream a Snoop concert any day of the week through YouTube.  They aren't turning on the TV waiting for a 10min performance they can find online whenever they want to watch it.

Most people I spoke to with a good mix of young and old weren't even aware snoop was playing at the grand final anyway or didn't care.

  •  Both codes have turned the pre game "entertainment" into a pissing competition.

    Not interested in it sorry.

There is a betting system that can't fail as long as you have a large starting bank and big balls. The NRL is the only competition I know of that this system can work. It is as simple as doubling your losing bet on any team paying above 5/4…"
