From 2005 through to 2010 the Eels have churned through 4 coaches and 2 Boards. Results of the 5 year period have been good despite not winning a premiership.
2005 Make final 4 and drop out with a hertbreaking performance against the Cowboys
2006 Not a positive year and Brian axed for being too tough not picking the right players. Taylor wins some games but punted as too close to Brian
2007 Brilliant year and great semi against a team we now know were cheating
2008 Hagan undone for being too soft
2009 Prodigal son DA returns to take us a within one win of a premiership again against a team of cheats
2010 DA sacked for beign too tough and not getting on with Board
What can Kearney take from this ? Basicaly if he does not win every year he needs to look over his shoulder. A coach in his first appointment joining a club without solid support from the Board would be a massive mistake.
This leadership chaos is killing the club.
Another learning is that when he listen to P.R.Gould and he is attacking Gallop and sticking up for the Storm players look at the damage the Storm cheating has done to other clubs and players and coaches in the game. Without the Storm cheating we may still have Hagan and we would certainly still have DA.

As much as some of us would wish that Anderson would stay, the likelihood of that seems rather minute now.
Kearney will no doubt be weary of the situation, but I'm sure things will be looked at very closely before Kearney makes any sudden move to move into the role.
