  This one completely baffles me. I guess they were written by someone who didn't watch the footy on the weekend.
  
  The Dogs are above the Knights after 1 round. Hmmm, I'm pretty sure the Knights beat the Dogs.
  The Storm are on top after the most boring win of the round.
  The Roosters were the stand-out giant killers on the weekend and they only come in at 7.
  We somehow made our way to 5th spot.

  Obviously the only ranking that matters is the NRL table - that power ranking thing is BS in the extreme.

  I think it takes in to account where teams were expected to finish this season coupled with their overall performance, that is, How you won or How you lost.
  
  Parra lost against a team that was listed by many before the season started to finish top 4. And it was 2 tries apiece. Probably a fair assessment. The Roosters did have a very good win, but remember they are last years wooden spooners and while some people expected an improved performance this year, would you say they are ready to dominate the comp after beating the much-hyped Rabbits in round 1? I doubt it. The Storm won away from home without Cronk and an Origin prop against a team desperate to get a positive start for the year. Was a good tough win especially after flying to the other side of the world and back just a fortnight earlier where they also played another tough game.
  
  The ranking will start to look more like the actual ladder itself come 6-8 rounds in I'd say.

  It certainly is a strange entity. I don't get it either. Anything to sell papers I guess.
  
  Now if they had power rankings on the Refs and officials who unduly influenced the outcomes of games.......

  Some valid and helpful points EelLectric. I guess you do have to take opponents and venues into account.
  It just seemed a bit funny after 1 game to see some high for the sake of being high and some low for the same reason.
