  • This still doesn't tell the full story. The timing of the penalties is also significant. Late tackle count penalties, piggy back penalties to get a team downfield, consecutive penalties to a team to dominate possession or maintain a roll-on - all assist a team. Penalties when a match is over, a penalty with a few seconds left in the half. A first tackle penalty when a team is already attacking in the quarter.- none of these are any benefit yet they appear as a penalty received. I have an issue with how we fare in regard to these aspects.
    • Spot on, sixties.

The make-up penalty regime is a real blight on the game, imo.  It does nothing other than give a false impression of proceedings in a match.

If the teams have been refereed unbiasedly, the refs. shouldn’t give a toss about penalty counts.  If a 20-2 count is an honest one, then so be it.

  • This has contributed to our close losses. I guess it's not always the coaches & players fault dumb decision by refs have cost us in the past. So a game like the Tigers where dodgy decision went against the oppositions meant nothing. It happens!!
  • All you can do is laugh.

  • Rubbish stat
  • It was worse when Bill (I hate Parra) Harrigan was reffing us

  • Richest team in the comp, unlimited salary cap and the media still wants us to feel sorry for them all the time.
  • Maybe a better scale would be "how many metres were gained" and "which tackle did the penalty occur on". That would probably give all the information needed to know how critical the penalty was.

If that is legitimate, who do the Broncos plan on swapping him with?"
