Seems like a smart play to me, our defence this year so far is one of the worst so by that theory Griffin is just trying to out defend us, like they did last year, and grind to victory. Seems like their best chance of beating us. I just hope our defence starts to turn a corner.
Spot on. It's strange with our defence this year. We seem to have bodies there but our contact and wrestle has diminished from last year. Against the Storm we were knocking them over quickly and often they got to their feet first leaving Eels defenders on the ground. Conversely the Storm were slowly lowering Eels ball runners to the ground and rising first ensuring a slow play the ball. We MUST start winning the ruck again!!
I am convincing myself this year BA is taking a different approach. It seems to me he is trying to backend our effort rather then his typical frontloading. I reckon the forward pack is holding back a little and just trying to win games doing the bare minimum at the moment, come origin period I am expecting the boys to really start inserting themselves in the ruck so we can kick on into the finals. It just worries me at the moment that we are falling in to the old bad habits, don't win the ruck which in turn makes our edge defence unbelievably terrible which erodes the outside backs confidence. All we need to learn to do is hold our line and slide but it has been 3 years so not holding out hope.

So just on the Dragons , without starting a new thread. I'm sitting here with the girls who wanted to watch the NRLW game as one of them knows a girl playing for the Dragons. All three of them are of the opinion that Elsie the #8 for the Dragons is not female. I know a few people got offended when this was brought up before , but how do we know she was born a female ? Even her biggest defenders would have to admit she has all the mannerisms of a male , and she's on another level physically to the other girls in the comp.
