Skelton & Wilson

Off-contract outside backs for 2025, pretty much all on this list are an upgrade on what we have now, once a coach is sorted, I'd love to see us go after Wilson and Skelton from the dogs, they've got better guys in front of them and are a massive upgrade on the plodders we have now (ie. Sivo)

  • Wilson needs Skelton's power and Skelton needs Wilson's speed to be the winger we need.

If only meat pies were like Popeye's spinach for Te Whare.

  • Skelton is an absolute weapon in attack, yet seems to be the quality of Waqa Blake in defence as per the Dogs fans.

Wilson is just a goer and as some have mentioned already turned us down for a spot at Dogs, what an idiot as he would have been starting at Fullback right now as we tried to get him to be that wing/fullback hybrid.

    • Agree we should target bulldogs juniors, they've blocked most of their paths with signings from other clubs. We did try get Wilson but dogs stopped us, and he is in nsw cup every week.

  • Young hoppa looked good yesterday

    • Manly has another wrecking ball killed us in Reggies.

  • We should of went iro when he was playing Reggies. Ea banged on about it for years. Plenty of good players not getting a start. Just depends on experience and money.

  • Tesi Niu should be at the top of that list. Great winger and also a pretty good goal kicker.

Not sure how he would feel about leaving QLD though.

  • No one will be even looked at until we lock away the new coach.

In saying that obviously the pick of the bunch is Iro, but no chance the Holmes twin will be let go by the Sharks.

    Simonnson IMO should be extended.

    • I would take any of them over Simonsson

      • Simonson has probably been our best player this year he needs to be re-signed

"Fletcher is still very highly rated. But his stress fracture means he's starting this year in SG Ball, whereas Lorenzo could quite easily be starting in NSW Cup. That gives him a jump on first grade. Club wants to keep both and are planning pathways…"

EA replied to LB's discussion Parramatta Eels selection questions for 2026: Changing plans, outside backs and new signings
"I think it's simply Lorenzo is suited to be a 6 while Fletcher is more suited to the 7 jersey. Normally a 7 is a better player overall than a 6.
Fletcher could fill in at 6 if needed"

"I think that is pretty much spot on, perhaps Moretti on the bench somewhere but that is Round 1 lineup as of now."

"Though Badger, if you let Parra pick a position they wanted from a trade for Lomax they are taking a middle forward as that seems to be the area they want covered most. That Paulo replacement."
