Sixth on the ladder - 14 points.

According to nrl.com Parra are on 14 points and 6th on the ladder. Why haven't they taken the points away yet? Surely it would be better to do it now so we now what sort of challenge we face for the rest of the season.

  • 5 days remaining for parra to take the decision to court which they are not going to so enjoy 14 points for another 5 days cos after Friday there gonskis
    • 5 days for parra to submit their response....the court case is separate issue regarding the deregistering of the gang of five, which they are dropping!

    • Close enough
  • Wouldn't we just lose the 12 points if we fielded a team last night that is cap compliant we should get those 2 points.
  • We have until 3rd June to give our response to the charges. After that 12 points gonnnne
  • Do teams not get 2 points for the bye anymore?
  • Why is everyone so confident that we are going to lose 12 points. We have a right of reply and that reply is on June 3rd. Have any of you actually thought we may have some fair and reasonable responses to the breaches, therefore reducing the points penalty.
    • Look at the facts Fredeel. Greenberg initially announced the penalties as if they were a fait accompli. The gang of 5 look set to drop their court action. There have been zero media leaks retorting anything that was alleged by the NRL. We've dropped players as if we are owning the cap position and the penalties.

For the fine to be reduced or overturned we'd have to have shown some pretty massive evidence that proves innocence of the club. There's no news that has even hinted at this evidence existing.

99.9% chance the points deduction will stand.
  • The 12 point penalty is not official as it was from the prelim hearing.

The club has until Friday (3rd of June) to respond to the NRLs prelim hearing

After the clubs response, the NRL will then review and give their final hearing (making whatever penalty they hand down official and points taken off us then).

  • Allen, the court case has nothing to do with the club and 12 points. It's about the suspension of the five. The club's punishment will not be determined by a court. If we disagree with the NRL's decision we go to the NRL Review Commiittee (which is headed by a federal court judge).

1. Who would you like to see get flogged in Vegas - Gutherson or D. Brown. Or maybe they don't concern you and are only focused on us. For mine its Gutherson, I've never liked him off the park. Sure on the park he gave everything, but his contract…
