  • Pretty sure Beau Scott resigned ... or is that retired?

  • Cooper cronk wants to go to Eels now he won a grand final at the Roosters

  • We are in a situation where we don't have any current rep players and we just got the spoon so signing a player on the basis that they would be having success at our club would be a tough sell. Secondly if any potential signing were reading the news they'd know that we have given BA to round 10 next year to be resigned . Not having a guarantee on who the long term coach I doubt anyone would come to play under a certain coach to develop their game when seemingly there is a dead duck coaching us. So what reasons do we have left its probably only money so we'd have to pay a lot.

I really think we better hope we have some juniors that develop into first graders as signing players is difficult when you haven't been successfully and there is uncertainty about who will be coaching long term. BA may be here all of 2019 but if you want a player to sign a three year contract with not knowing who the coach will be potentially for two of those years they'd see it as a risk

    • Like I posted yesterday, Roosters finished 2011 in 11th and 2012 in 15th position, installed a rookie coach in Robinson however still managed to sign Maloney, SBW and Jennings and won the comp so coach and ladder position seems to only apply to us.Look at Newcastle, buying some good quality players after 3 spoons and a shite coach.
      • I agree and let's not beat around the bush the roosters reported they were paying sbw 500000 on the cap there was clearly a shite load of third parties or brown paper bags filled with cash. That was two seasons though we have made the finals once in the last decade and haven't won a premiership in over 30 years don't think it's the same situation. Changing our image we have created over the last decade will take multiple years of making the finals.

Newcastle have arguably done well they let the old dead wood players contracts expire , they then saved there money for key targets 1 mil for ponga is overs for a guy who hadn't played first grade that much. He is the kind of talent you could build a club around though and the gamble has paid off as we can all see.

      • Exactly eggman. Modern players just want money. All the rest is bullshit they use to justify taking a quarter of their salary outside the cap in TPAs.

  • What a unprofessional club!!! Unbelievable
    • Good to hear FF, yes I am very much Maltese, awesome place Malta glad u like it!!
  • I heard Mark Riddell has quit his media gigs and is in training to make a come back and Brad Arthur is very interested to sign him as a front rower and captain.

He was seen at the club last week in deep conversation with Bernie and Brad over a coffee.

    Stay tuned..

  • We have signed one of Ferguson’s legs and I’m resigned to the fact that next year will be the same as this year.
