  • Thanks Brad. 100% spot on mate.

At the end of the day if that ridiculous call of forward pass isn’t made in the first half we very probably go on to win, after defending our line essentially non stop for 20 mins if we score there that has to demoralise the raiders.

Mate I’ve learned you’ve just got to let the usual suspects come on here and bitch and moan for a few days blaming anyone they can get their pea brains to focus on. And  then they get over it and after the next win it’s happy days again and they forgot it ever happened .

  • Finally someone with a brain.

  • You have to make things go your way brad instead of waiting for it. We played without patience and we also let them make big gains out of yardage.

They won the arm wrestle all night.

The fact is, nothing has really convince anyone that the eels are genuine contenders. Yes we have shown great effort, but strategically it's been poor on most occasions so far.

The tigers will be hard to beat if we continue to throw the ball away

    • Were still ahead of 8 other sides

    • Chief, that is simply not correct. No team competes with 30% possession. Under fatigue every person regardless of their profession make mistakes.

In the first period where the raiders had all the ball there was 3 occasions where the game could have turned. We should have received a penalty for the tackle on Sivo I’m the air, we should have scored a try and Rapana was held in goal way before he finally got the ball back to the field of play.

we then played dumb football but we played tough football we never gave in and we created 3 genuine scoring opportunities in the second half.

Chief remember they had all the ball and only scored 3 tries 2 from kicks.

        • Frankie I did not here but in conversation I did. I thought we scored two tries less than we should have.

        • Possession was exactly 50/50 in the Sharks game. And we had just as many starting players out.

      • Brad the Eels looked rudderless from the kick off! There was no intensity or desire in their attack even when they did have the ball. Yes! They defended extremely well BUT their fundamental dumb errors gave the Raiders more possession which the very good top teams dont do very often! Its no good commenting how great their defence was as its scoring more points than the opposition that wins games and if the attack is continually predictable and one dimensional they will never compete with the top sides. The Eels lost that game from the start it wasnt the Raiders that won it as the Eels never turned up to win the game!

  • Agreed. Everyone needs to relax a bit after that one.

Raiders played well and deserved that win at home. They would have beaten most teams including Storm and Roosters with that performance. We defended well most of the game and had a dozen bad calls go against us. How many sets did we successfully defend on our try line?

No one could honestly say they went into that game with a lot of confidence against an in-form Canberra team at home... and when you look at the ladder we've only lost twice to teams #2 and #3. Canberra has been playing and defending well. Credit to them.

While we never looked like winning, we stayed in that game and didn't let it get out of hand. I was disappointed towards the end with the number of mistakes like everyone else, but that's what happens when you defend most of the game.

Had that bullsh!t forward pass not been given where Moses race down the line, that would have seen us on the front foot and I think that could have changed the game.

Fergo's injury is a bigger concern imo.
