Should we make a play for Luke Thompson?

Do you rate him? On 850k at dogs for next 3 yrs. Could be another RCG situation for us where we can get him for 500k. Dogs need him gone. With RCG and jnr ripping in, i think he can be a gun for us.

Thoughts?

  • Did you miss that we re-signed Paulo lol? How much money do you want to spend on forwards??

  • He's a great front rower, but I rate RCG and Junior ahead of him. We lack class in our outside backs.

    • Nice try

    • ExDropKick that's the silliest thing I've seen you post. And that's a pretty decent achievement.

  • No. We have guys like Makatoa, Kaufusi, Hollis, Greig and Rodwell. Waste of money buying Thompson when all of those guys would be like 80% cheaper.

    • ^This.

  • He's looked ok in a bad Bulldogs team, but anyone who suggested he was going to ge the next great English forward like Sam Burgess or James Graham are kidding themselves. I wouldn't pay a cent over 400k for him.

  • Don't need him and can't afford him now we have locked in jnr and rcg.

  • I would rather use the cash to tie up players like Penisini, Dunster, Russell etc. Lets keep some of our good juniors and let the Bulldogs burn with their 2023 salary cap drama. We have more than enough good middle men as well a good depth in that area and it might be smart to hold onto as much 2023 cap money as possible because there is plenty of time to see who becomes available and what new stars emerge in the next 12 or so months.

  • The worse the Bulldogs cap looks, the funnier it is. I hope no one picks him up without the Bulldogs paying massive freight. And I definitely don't want to do anything that improves the dogs financial position...let em sweat.
