Should the Eels retire the number 7 jersey?

Speaking of the curse of the number 7 jersey and always being compared to Sterlo, I'm not sure if there are NRL laws saying we have to have a number 7 jersey, but could we permanently retire that number and use 17 or something instead?

    We will be effectively retiring the #7 jersey for the rest of the year, once that guy who is really a #1 but often wears #6 for us pulls on the #7 for the rest of the year.

    I think Yobz is onto something. How many halfbacks have failed since he left? I suppose you could number the halfback as 3.5 as he would only be half as good as Sterlo (would that then be quarter back?).

    There's no curse when poor management has been involved over the years. We had two of the most talented halves come through our system in Maloney & Hodkinson only to throw them away for Brett Finch.

      Ok Maloney is an alright half but please hodkinson is not tanleted let alone one of the most talented he would be the 16th best 7 in the comp

    Maybe we should be looking after our juniors instead of paying ridiculous money (1.2mil) for 7 game . 7 games an omen in itself. Hayne n mist 80's team was a parra juniors enough said

      How many premierships did hayne win? Who was our last good junior half? Hodkinson? Tim smith? You have to devolp what u have and recruit what you need we just haven't signed one that worked out
