With so many players coming off contract and all the talk made about retention, maybe this presents an opportunity for Parra to chase a talented game breaker. Joey Manu, off contract at the end of 22, certainly fits the bill. He wouldn't come cheap- close to a million a year, according to market estimates. So obviously Parra would have to move some players on to accommodate a 'million dollar man'. If Parra plays Manu at fullback, a position that justifies the price tag, then Gutherson should be offered a deal around 700-750K to play at 6, and move Brown on. No doubt Brown is a talented 6, but he has failed to deliver at Parra, so maybe a change of environment would be best for both parties. I think we need to chase another centre to partner Penesini, an outstanding junior player who impressed in his two appearances, so maybe pay overs for an identified youngster from other clubs (or do we have another young gun centre?) I am not sure whether moving Blake on is an option (I am not as critical of him as others are on this forum), so I would play him on the wing. So Blake and Dunster on the wings, two young centres, Manu at fullback, Gutherson at 6 and Moses at 7. So I am not sure how much cash i have opened up by moving on: Dylan Brown, Sivo (I think he is contracted anyway so not sure if we can move him on but might be worth a try), Blake Ferguson, Opacic and Oldfield.
My forward priority keeps would be Paulo, Cambell - Gillard, Mahony, Papalli and Kafusi. Cartwright has just signed for another 2 years, so he is a keeper as well.
So there are a lot of 'ifs' of course, but the Roosters must be under the pump with the salary cap and with Tedesco at fullback, it is looking likely that they will have to move him on. The Warriors are certainly keen to gain his signature, but it will come down to whether Parra can come up with the coin to match the warriors and whether he wants to say in Sydney or head home.

I think you need Moses as a priority keep if yo wanna play him at 7. Just sayin'
Yes- and also added Nathan Brown to the forward keeps.
Sorry meant to add Nathan Brown to the list of forward keeps.
Lol. Soz. I read it wrong
Looking Forward, Nuikore, is my forward priority keeper
Another one to add to the list- gee cap space is running out, but I agree, Nuikore is a keep for sure, a very versatile player too.
Mick, just follow me, original thinking is not your strong point.
PS your Avatar displays this admirably....now do as i say....
lol classic Micky
The same Ennis said Gutho is a must for Parra. In fact he said Gutho as our captain and leader should be a P1 signature.
You might be right, but Dylan has failed to reach his potential at Parra and I think Gutho offers the club a lot more, both on and off the field, although if he is after a million a year deal, then Parra is better off letting him go. Manu would offer a lot more in attack at that price.
i cant see all this hype with dylan to be honest, even in previous years. Andrew Johns said what a super star. Had an opportunity to work with him and I still cant see the hype.
