Hi y'all,

I don't post on here really but I  just want to hear everyone's thoughts. If both are in form next year should it be Moses to lose? I know Walker dominated the attack but it isn't ike Cleary has ever been dominant in origin either.

I just don't get why Cleary always seems to be automatically selected. He has lost a few series now, there attack with Luai, Cleary and Yeo looked clunky and unorganised the first 2 games and looked more fluid through out the team with Moses/Walker.

Even Joey was never a walk in.

  • I think so , Moses handled himself beautifully in both games  and looked far more dangerous than chins ever has and his defence was outstanding .

    • I agree 100% Frankie. Moses and Walker having matured and are in that peak age wise shouldn't be disregarded so easily by NSW hierarchy. Nathan is the first half I can remember that seems to get a free pass and no pressure for average performances at rep. He was average at the world cup too if you remember his kicking issues.

  • Logically speaking he definitely should. As Fong said Moses played beautifully, did his job well as expected and his defence was a highlight even though the commentators ignored it.
But undoubtedly Cleary will automatically get his spot back without hesitation. His Dad was in the NSW coaches box ffs.
RCG also highlighted how much bias is involved in NSW Origin selection. He was awesome last night and a perfect Origin style prop. They'll undoubtedly go with Haas and Jurbo (even though Jurbo barely makes 3m a hit-up)

    • I agree his defence was unreal, especially when you consider his Tiger days. Yeah the way the media and co are talking, it seems Cleary will be a walk in and Moses was just filling in. Tedesco copped it and rightly so, but Cleary it is quickly forgotten and the one controlling the team. I dont think Luai should be ever considered again but I think he has had a better origin career to date than Cleary.

RCG is spot on, I believe he has been better than Paulo for the last 2 seasons and offers aggression. Haas and RCG should be starting props moving forward. Jurbo only offers solid D but his attack is horrible.

    • The big difference between Moses and chins is that Moses was thrust into origin without being able to play his natural game , Chins over the years has had the entire origin team selected  based around his game and he has still been a failure .

      • Exactly big difference

      • Yep mate agreed. Game 2 look what happened with Yeo, he seemed to have more attacking control over Moses and it failed miserably.

        • That is more reason Cleary should be more in control in origin. He has alot of comfort around him. Closest club combo qld have is Grant/Munster and they aren't selected for club combo just cause they are weapons.

          • Have you noticed the maturity of all the senior  players some well into their 30s playing the best football  of their careers. Cherry Evans and Johnson are on fire.  Even Walker getting on.   I'm sure Cleary has plenty of improvement in him don't worry.

            • Yeah it is been good to watch, that why theywere saying CD could play till his late 30s competitive.

I think Nathan does as well and I think he is a gun but he should be accountable more when the team goes bad.
